In their second annual poll, the Television Critics Association have selected Fox's Gotham as the most promising series of the upcoming season, followed by The CW's Jane the Virgin and Showtime's drama The Affair. The upcoming DC Comics based show also topped the drama category, with The Affair landing in second place edging out How to Get Away With Murder. Of course getting over with critics is one thing, but how will fans react to some of the more glaring alterations to Batman mythos? We'll find out when Gotham premières on September 22. In the meantime, here's a new banner.
The series follows one cop, destined for greatness, as he navigates a dangerously corrupt city teetering between good and evil, and chronicles the rise of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes. The entirely new, untold chapter comes from executive producer/writer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist,” “Rome”) and stars Ben McKenzie (“Southland,” “The O.C.”), Donal Logue (“Vikings,” “Sons of Anarchy”) and Jada Pinkett Smith (“Hawthorne,” “Collateral”).
Gotham kicks off Monday, September 22.
