SUPERGIRL Battles Cyborg Superman In Description For "The Darkest Place" Episode

The CW has released the first official description for the seventh episode of Supergirl, and it confirms that Cyborg Superman is coming to National City. The question is, who exactly will play him?

In the comics, Hank Henshaw is Cyborg Superman, hence why we all thought that's who David Harewood was playing in the Supergirl premiere when his eyes glowed red. Of course, it would later be revealed that he was really Martian Manhunter, but the villain is indeed coming to the series later this year in the show's seventh episode of The CW. Titled "The Darkest Place," here's the synopsis:

IT’S SUPERGIRL VS. CYBORG SUPERMAN — While Guardian (Mehcad Brooks) tries to clear his name after being accused of a murder committed by another vigilante, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) heads out on a solo mission to rescue Mon-El (Chris Wood) who has been captured by CADMUS. While fighting to free Mon-El, Supergirl comes face to face with Cyborg Superman. Glen Winter directed the episode written by Robert Rovner & Paula Yoo.

This seems like the perfect opportunity to bring back Tyler Hoechlin, but chances are that this Superman will be a full of Cyborg played by another actor. Either way, it will be interesting to see if Cyborg Superman is a one off foe for the Girl of Steel or a recurring villain under the control of Cadmus. Are you looking forward to his small screen debut here? As always, share your thoughts below...

I just hope he is handled better than the way they handled Metallo.

I mean, making it so anyone could be turned into Metallo? Come on, there is only one Metallo.

If it's Cyborg Superman...shouldn't it be Tyler Hoechlin?

Isn't it obvious? What's left of Hank Henshaw will be Cyborg Superman. That IS who the character ends up being in the first place.

I believe this is the mid season break. When they introduce Cyborg Superman, hopefully he's played
by Dean Cain and the show leaves us with an iconic image something like this classic scene.

I like the idea of Dean Cain picking up the cape again, but this whole convoluted way of doing it doesn't sit particularly well with me. Cain should have played Hank Henshaw, and then had J'onn adopt the alias of John Jones separate from that, with the real Henshaw trapped at Cadmus.

The idea of a brainwashed adopted father is just melodrama, but that's not surprising from this corner of comicbook media. Teen angsty relationships and melodrama is to CW what snappy dialogue and tension-breaking humor is to Marvel. Bread and butter.

I have stated multiple times on our youtube show Comicgeddon... that I'm pretty sure what they'll do is put the original Hank Henshaw's mind into Jeromiah Danvers' body to make him the Cyborg Superman... Henshaw's hatred for aliens combine with Jeremiah's appearance to torture the hell out of Kara and Agent Danvers... It would be a great way for Dean Cain to return to Superman mythos. Random question, if the real Hank was so bad that he basically resulted in Alex losing her father and Martian Manhunter took his place then was revealed as an alien, why does he still take the form of Hank?

@Origame - Because........bad writing. This show is laden with it.

Or J'onn is a creature of habit and is known by other people outside work as Hank.
