SUPERGIRL Gets A Full Season Order From CBS For 20 Episodes

SUPERGIRL Gets A Full Season Order From CBS For 20 Episodes

In some very good news for the newest DC Comics TV series, CBS has given Supergirl a full season order (though not for the traditional 22 episodes we're used to seeing).

CBS has announced today that they've ordered an additional seven instalments of Supergirl, taking its total of season one episodes up to twenty. While that may be a couple of episodes short of the traditional full-season order, the network is still referring to this as a "full-season" pickup, so don't panic about the show's future just yet! There are various reasons this could have hapenned, including the fact that Supergirl actually premiered quite a bit later than most new TV shows this Fall. Ratings have been good, though they plummeted last week with a season low of 7.2 million (the show debuted with 13 million), but those are still good numbers, and CBS are very happy as the series has still improved this timeslot for them by 46% compared to last year. Does this full-season order mean we're getting that Supergirl/The Flash crossover? We'll have to wait and see...

I've never watched it, but I support anything that gets the fanboy's panties in a bunch.

Well, I guess that Flash crossover is a strong likelihood now. I've only seen clips, but its tone seems to be a good fit for The Flash.

This show isn't bad... Its better than a lot of other DC TV shows... I would say it has room for improvement but its definitely watchable.

I'm starting to like this show and if the Flash crossover happens it'll become better.
This show really needs to tie into to the rest of the DCTV universe...

less Superman references and a bigger presence of DC Superheroes we haven't seen yet onscreen (even as easter eggs) is the key to making this show cool.

@JasonBlue

The show is fun to watch, but I will be the first to admit it is not the greatest show nor a masterpiece. Some of the writing is cringe worthy, but the show is a great way to draw in young girls into comicbooks!

I love the show. I don't need every show to have the same tone or level of fighting. At this point if you put someone in a cape and call it a superhero show, I'll watch the crap out of it.

Jessica jones, aos, agent carter, and daredevil are awesome. Flash, Arrow (overall) and supergirl are awesome! Good time to be a nerd.

@GeraltOfRivia: Marvel TV actors are actually aren't that herk as MCU movies. Recently Clark Gregg and Chloe.Bennett took a pic with Melissa Benoist. Hell she also took AoS's side in dubsmash war.

The show's not that bad. Yeah, there could be some improvements but it's still in its beginnings. They need to have at least one actual appearance of Superman to really bring it together, no flashbacks. I vote for Paul Telfer if they get bold.
