Production on the pilot episode for CBS's Supergirl has officially begun today. We can probably expect more photos on set, but one can only hope that we get our first official look at Melissa Benoist in the Supergirl outfit sooner rather than later. So are you guys excited for the series? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!

Supergirl is expected to premiere this fall on CBS and will star Melissa Benoist as Kara, Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El, Chyler Leigh as Kara’s foster sister Alex, David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, with helen Slater and Dean Cain in mystery roles.

Not excited. I'd rather have a solo Nightwing series or even Hawkman more than this.

I hope the Arrow-Flash-Supergirl crossover comes soon after Supergirl premiere. Maybe on mid season or something

The director's three only directing credits are Smallville, Arrow, and The Flash

contrast this with the David Nutter, director of The Flash and Arrow's pilots: his credits include X-Files, Game of Thrones, and the original 21 Jump Street
