SUPERGIRL: The Girl Of Steel Is Back In Action In The New Promo For Season 4, Episode 5: "Parasite Lost"

With Kara (Melissa Benoist) temporarily sidelined, last night's episode shifted a considerable amount of focus to her supporting cast as J'onn (David Harewood), Alex (Chyler Leigh), Jimmy (Mehcad Brooks), Nia Nal (Nicole Maines), Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath), and Brainiac-5 (Jesse Rath) all got their chances to shine. Plus, the series finally introduced Manchester Black (David Ajala), who made quite the impression in his opening hour.

Next week, the Girl of Steel will be back in action, patrolling the skies, but it looks like she's going to find herself in quite the predicament when Parasite comes to town and drains her of her life force. Meanwhile, Colonel Haley (April Parker Jones) begins to make changes at the DEO and Kara makes a mistake at her day job.

"Parasite Lost" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, V) (HDTV)

THE POWER OF THE PEN - Colonel Haley (April Parker Jones) makes a surprising decision regarding Supergirl (Melissa Benoist). Kara writes s series of articles highlighting aliens in National City in the hopes that humans will stop being so fearful of them. Unfortunately, the article puts some of the aliens in harm's way. David Mcwhirter directed the episode written by Maria Maggenti & Aadrita Mukerji (#405). Original airdate 11/11/2018.

Season three saw Supergirl stop Reign and the other Worldkillers’ threat to humanity and our planet, and in the process, Kara was shocked to find her mother Alura alive and living in a salvaged Argo City that survived the destruction of Krypton. Reconnecting with her past caused Kara to realize that her true home is now here on Earth, where big changes are taking place for her and all of her friends in National City – and also, it appears, for a doppelganger in Russia! Season four promises to be full of surprises, action, adventure and lots of big revelations for Supergirl, Alex, James, J’onn, Lena and Brainy.

Supergirl features:
Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl
Mehcad Brooks as James 'Jimmy' Olsen/Guardian
Chyler Leigh as Alexandra 'Alex' Danvers
Jeremy Jordan as Winslow 'Winn' Schott
David Harewood as J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter
Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor
Jesse Rath as Querl Dox/Brainiac 5
Sam Witwer as Ben Lockwood/Agent Liberty

Solid episode.
I hope Manchester Black ended up having some sort of powers though.

I might as well put this here, I just watched the last episode of Arrow and it struck me that Audrey Marie Anderson (Lyla), with her short hair (that only 1 woman out of a million can pull off) and her class would have made a great Maria Hill. Not latina but still more comic accurate than Cobie Smulders.

@Asturgis - And she's a better actress too.

Good episode. Aside from Alex apologizing to Kara right after rightfully putting her in her place(Kara comes off too much like Korra from TLOK for my liking).

Agent Liberty using Guardian for his own narrative is a cool aspect that I hope they develop well. It still made no sense to me that James chose to unmask himself(a stupid decision on its own) and then acts like he doesn't understand that he could/would get arrested if he suited up again. Honestly would be a little more interesting if he had to lie and say it was an imposter. It'd make it even harder for him to suit up again as he'd be under more scrutiny, and add that to how they're twisting what Guardian stands for; would make for a nice dilemma.
