With Legends of Tomorrow preparing to bring its third season to an epic close, The CW has started preparing fans for the return of their other big-budget superhero series: Supergirl!

While we don't have an official synopsis just yet, the new footage does confirm that the upcoming midseason premiere will be fairly Winn-centric (Jeremy Jordan) as he says goodbye to his father - and then reunites with his long-lost mother (Laurie Metcalf). However, it doesn't look like this family reunion will be particularly fun for Kara (Melissa Benoist) as she finds herself at the mercy of the Toyman's final trick.

Watch the new promo for episode fourteen, titled "Schott Through The Heart," below:

"Schott Through The Heart" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

Original airdate 4/16/2018.

As Superman’s cousin, Kara Danvers (aka Supergirl) balances her work as a reporter for CatCo Worldwide Media with her work for the Department of Extra-Normal Operations (DEO), a super-secret government organization whose mission is to keep National City – and the Earth – safe from sinister threats. At the DEO, Kara works for J’onn J’onzz, the Martian Manhunter, and alongside her sister, Alex, and best friend, Winn Schott. Also in Kara’s life are James Olsen, a photo journalist who moonlights as Guardian, a masked vigilante, Lena Luthor, and Mon-El of Daxam, whose planet was ravaged by Krypton’s destruction. In season three, Kara and team will come up against a new threat in the form of DC Worldkiller, Reign.

Hopefully the remaining episodes are collectively stronger than what has come before this season. Not to say that there weren't some great episodes, but there were some major duds and disappointments as well. I mean, as much as I love seeing Odette Annable, Katie McGrath, and Amy Jackson on screen, I also would love if the episode's themselves were always solid as well.

@DoubleD - Yep. I just felt like writing but couldn't find anything substantial. The most significant thing I could find was the Maz Kanata thing I just posted.

Oh wow so they got the Toyman back? Or is it that Winn's mother is sadly as insane and too far gone like Winslow was?

Can't wait for the episode.
