Superman & Lois has found its new Jonathan Kent!

Last month, the news broke that Jordan Elsass had decided to abruptly exit the series. No specifics were shared, with The CW simply stating that: “Jordan Elsass has notified the Studio that he will not be returning to Superman & Lois for season three due to personal reasons. The role of Jonathan Kent will be recast."

Now, Deadline reports that Australian actor Michael Bishop will take over as the son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane for the upcoming third season of the show.

The up-and-coming actor recently made his American film debut playing the lead role of DJ Maz in Disney Channel’s Original Movie, Spin. His other credits include Australian TV series Grace Beside Me, Swinging Safari, and short films Shelter, Skin Like Bark, Detention, Pet Rock, Hunter and Gatherer and Indiana.

Tyler Hoechlin (Clark Kent/Superman), Elizabeth Tulloch (Lois Lane), Alex Garfin (Jordan Kent), Erik Valdez (Kyle Cushing), Inde Navarrette (Sarah Cushing), Wolé Parks (John Henry Irons), Tayler Buck (Natalie Lane Irons), Sofia Hasmik (Chrissy Beppo), Dylan Walsh (Sam Lane), and Emmanuelle Chriqui (Lana Lang Cushing) will all be back for season 3, which is scheduled to begin shooting later this month.

Superman & Lois is a little different to previous Man of Steel-centric shows, as the story will focuses on Clark and Lois raising a family and dealing with the "stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society."

Former The Flash showrunner Todd Helbing executive produces the series with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns via Berlanti Productions.

Hopefully Elsass can work through whatever was going on. I was hoping they'd make an excuse for him being absent giving opportunity to bring him back later on. He was the less annoying son tbh. The show must go on I suppose. Hopefully season 3 turns out better than s2.

Now only if they'll reduce the puffiness from the supersuit, still looks awkward AF

Not gonna lie, that seems pretty damn good. He actually looks like a clone of Jordan Elsass and Alex Garfin lol. I'm still gonna miss Jordan Elsass though and I wish this didn't have to happen.

Welcome to the show in this adjacent Arrowverse Earth, Michael. :)

To further hype up things they should release a special promotional poster of him as Jon with the rest of the family (including Sam Lane wouldn't hurt) to kickstart the production of S3.

Look closer as a brother of Jordan Kent tbh, nice casting.

Should've recast the other kid, his acting sucks.

Look wise he seems like a great pick. Hell, he looks more like Jordan Kent´s brother than Jordan Elsass did (it´s the curly hair). I just wish that he also has the acting chop and chemistry with the cast.

Cool, welcome to the team. He certainly looks the part. Jordan did a really good job as Jonathan, so hoping it's a smooth transition with this switch. And I know Jordan stepped away because of mental health, best of luck to him.

Superman and Lois is the best comic book series airing right now, cant wait for the next season.

Sad how this show gets overlooked for the MCU shows. Season 1 along is better than any of them.

They really need better suit material for superman as it looks stretched and kinds see through it looks so cheap.

That horrible tucked in cape does it no favours he look like hes massive on top with a shrunken head 🙄

Maybe better colouring so it dont look so worn out.

Now they look more alike , nothing against the other actor but this one looks like a good fit.
