While we weren't expecting any major casting news over this quiet Labor Day holiday weekend, The Direct has seemingly uncovered who will be playing the big bad in the upcoming third season of Superman & Lois.
The outlet was in attendance during the ”Arrow Guests: Saving Star City” panel at DragonCon yesterday, where Arrow star and frequent Superman & Lois director David Ramsey revealed on stage that Chad L. Coleman (The Wire; The Orville) has joined the cast as the season's main villain.
No further details were provided on his role, but it's possible he'll be portraying Bruno Mannheim, the leader of Intergang, who is expected to play a major role next season.
Coleman should be a familiar name to Arrowverse fans, as he previously appeared in four episodes of Arrow season five as the crime lord Tobias Church. However, since the two shows do not take place on the same Earth, it looks like the door was open for them to bring him back in a bigger role. Coleman's other prominent credits include, but are not limited to, The Wire, The Walking Dead, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, All American, The Expanse, and The Orville.
Tyler Hoechlin (Clark Kent/Superman), Elizabeth Tulloch (Lois Lane), Alex Garfin (Jordan Kent), Erik Valdez (Kyle Cushing), Inde Navarrette (Sarah Cushing), Wolé Parks (John Henry Irons), Tayler Buck (Natalie Lane Irons), Sofia Hasmik (Chrissy Beppo), Dylan Walsh (Sam Lane), and Emmanuelle Chriqui (Lana Lang Cushing) will all reprise their roles in season three.
The role of Jonathan Kent is in the process of being cast, following Jordan Elsass' departure, and we should hopefully learn more relatively soon as filming is expected to begin within a week or two.
Superman & Lois season three is slated to return Early 2023.
