SUPERMAN & LOIS Trailer Teases What's To Come And Gives Off Some Serious MAN OF STEEL Vibes

The CW has released a trailer for Superman & Lois which gives us a much better idea of what to expect from the series, though you'll find it tricky not to be instantly reminded of Man of Steel...

A new trailer has been released for Superman & Lois, and there's plenty to delve into here.

For staters, we learn more about Clark Kent and Lois Lane's life in Smallville, while their teenage sons also get quite a bit of attention. Lana Lang shows up, as does General Sam Lane, but it's a mysterious, armoured figure who really intrigues us. Could that be this show's take on Lex Luthor?

Superman & Lois' colour palette really jumps out at us, though, because it's impossible to watch this footage and not be reminded of Man of Steel (the costume even looks the same). Clearly, The CW wants to give this Superman TV show a big screen feel, and it looks vastly different to every other DC TV show on the network. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though!

Written by Todd Helbing and produced by Greg Berlanti, Superman & Lois is based on the DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, and revolves around the world’s most famous Super Hero, The Man of Steel aka Clark Kent, played by Tyler Hoechlin, and comic books’ most famous journalist, Lois Lane, played by Elizabeth Tulloch, as they deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.

The CW recently confirmed, via Deadline, that Superman & Lois will premiere on Tuesday, February 23, with a 90-minute premiere. That kicks off at 8pm ET/PT, and will be followed by a 30-minute special, Superman & Lois: Legacy of Hope, at 9.30pm ET/PT.

This actually looks good! Cinematography looks top-notch. Loving the chill vibe the trailer gives. Arrowverse is back, baby! Tyler also looks great in the role as always.

The f*ck???

Why does this look so good? Like...not even CW material!?!
I dunno what i expected but this looks surprisingly good, caught me off guard, not gonna lie.

The cinematography alone puts it on the other side of the CW spectrum, looks like they're legit gonna bet everything on it.

F*cking love it.

@Doomsday8888 - Increased HBO Max budget, and the guys from the Marvel D+ shows are doing VFX.

This trailer certainly managed to make me want to watch the show. Love the improved cinematography, no longer CW level but genuine high tier series level.
Don't get me wrong, I love the CWs cheesy filmmaking and I'd never want the TVD universe to switch that up but for it's superhero shows that is a solid way.

This looks like it has a strong budget behind it. I can get with that. If you're gonna do Superman, you can't half-ass it.

>Kents are dead

Sigh... :(
They are too damn important for me, this sucks!

Kinda still have mixed feelings for the TWO sons as well, i just wanted lil Jon for example for...various reasons, a lil sinergy with the comics would help a lot to de-age Jon and forget what Bendis did, lel. :P

Can always have another son but we'll see, hopefully the same ol CW dynamics wont ruin everything.

I want some wholesome shit!
I'm already getting my hopes up, aww man i can't do this anymore, why do i love Superman so goddamn much...

As long as the hope & charm Hoechlin brings to the role shines through the MOS aesthetics and vibe, I am down.

This looks way more interesting than anything else The CW has done.

Nice trailer, very cinematic in some parts too. Wished the lightning was brighter in some of the scenes too, but I am sure it will look better in the actual footage for the episodes.

Just one month left!

Looks promising. Hoechlin is pretty solid as Supes imo.

This...doesn't look like a CW show.

And I'm not complaining at all.

I'm torn in many directions on this:

I've never been a fan of TH as Supes, although the suit looks better here than it did previously.

I don't want it to be bad, because I don't want WB to lose faith in the character of Superman. Then again, I myself have lost faith in most of the WB/CW shows.

And that Super stubble gots to go.

@inkniron - I hear you about the stubble. That pretty much is the red flag saying "HEY, CLARK KENT AND SUPERMAN LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME". And that's pretty much the only thing that irks me about Tyler's Superman. Hopefully, it's only for the pilot.

Loved the more cinematic feel to the trailer. At least the CW knows that you can't be lazy with the Man of Steel. But I'll wait for the reviews before I check it out.

woudln't it be some sh*t if the reason Superman is being neglected on the big screen is because they're actually really pleased with this show.
VileBlood
VileBlood - 1/21/2021, 11:12 AM
@Spidey91 - it honestly looks better than anything we've seen from Superman on the big screen in decades.

The only thing I'm wary about are the teenage sons. There's some serious potential of me disliking them. But otherwise... this looks really, really solid. Respect for that trailer, seems to have caught a lot of people by surprise.
