Hitfix report that renowned Mexican actor Joaquín Cosío has joined season 2 of The Strain as Angel Guzman Hurtado, aka The Silver Angel. The character was at one time Mexico's most famous luchador (masked wrestler) who suffered an injury and found himself washed up and working as a dishwasher in a restaurant. But when the vampire apocalypse kicks off he gets the opportunity to don the mask once more and fight alongside former gang leader Gus to battle the forces of darkness. Cosío is a three-time Arieles (Mexican Academy of Film Awards) nominee, and has appeared in the likes of Quantum of Solace, A Better Life, Savages and The Lone Ranger. The second season of FX's The Strain is currently shooting, and will première this summer.

I like the sound of this,it reminds Me of the Luchador movies of the 60's.And,if You haven't seen it ,The Strain is a good show.Yes the characters actions can be frustrating at times, but as a viewer You can infer more of what's going on,and if some boneheaded decisions weren't made there'd be no show.

Good show. Has potential but it needs to pick up the pace in season 2 and start following the source material a bit more. It's on the edge where it could become Sleepy Hollow season 2, which is a complete waste of time. And also, please stop talking about Arrow. It's the gayest show ever. Well, the 2nd gayest show. Smallville was the absolute worst.

The books had gone pretty far off the rails by the time Angel showed up, but what a great character.

That's dope, Guillermo Del Toro always knows how to pick the talent for his projects. If you've never heard of Joaquin Cocio, I suggest you watch "Matando Cabos" It's a Crime Thriller/Comedy! Dude literally steals the show every time he's on screen. Sure it's a Mexican film, But if you aren't bothered reading subtitles lol. You'll definitely enjoy it!

I really liked the start of S1, but over the course of the season too many things started to bother me to be genuinely excited about S2-3. :/
