Here's a sneak peek at next Sunday's episode of HBO's gritty, medieval fantasy drama, Game of Thrones. Rumor has it that this is where the season throws a curve ball to those who have read George R.R. Martin's novels.

That was the safest pic of Margaery Tyrell I could find from that episode. Jesus. Hats off to Cap for turning down that one.

@ugur

I was actually saying the same thing. I feel like there are too many characters to follow and it hasn't really led up to anything significant yet. I think the other problem is we don't have a Ned Stark type character to root for this season. All we are getting is fragments of other people's lives throughout the kingdoms and it's hard to keep everything straight. I have a feeling it will get better, but I agree, the pacing has been quite snailish.

In other words, exposition is not paramount in your appeal so without any action you're bored, hence calling a perfectly fine and normal production "Slow". ..The American fast food generation, the beginning of the end of mankind indeed!

The sheer splendour of the production of each episode is a feast for the eyes alone, the narrative continues at the same pace as its always been and the playing field of characters grows with every episode and you find all this "slow"?

Seriously, people only find things going slow when they have no genuine interest in what's actually happening on screen to pay any real attention to all that is being presented. "Slow" is the last thing I'd call any of what I've seen so far this season, it's been compelling viewing and stunning to behold.

I really liked how in last nights episode they added the bit where Yoren tells Arya about how he said the name of his brothers killer every night until the point when he killed him. That is a big part of Arya's story and foreshadowing like hell.

I tend to agree with Ceejay here... I could never call this series slow and I've only seen Ep's 1 & 2 since 3 airs here in the UK tonight. All of the books are full of what would be deemed by some to be simply talking, conversation, exposition, plotting, scheming in dark corners etc, and the battles to me are very much secondary to that. I enjoy the pacing of the show, and we have to appreciate that since there is so much to cram into only 10 episodes, it is a necessary evil to limit certain characters' screen time to a few minutes each in the early episodes. It's purely to establish them after Series 1 and say "Right, Jon is now Here, Daenerys is Here, Arya is Here..." etc until the story can kick in properly from there... Keep it up HBO, Winter is coming...

Great Episode! First 2 episodes are usually introductions for whats to come. This episode was the clip being loaded into the gun. Tyrion plays the game well. He let them know he's not Ned Stark. And I like the respect him and the Spider have for each other. Greyjoy is making his own choices. Renly has a ride or die chick. and Yoren will be remembered for the badass he was. Plus the fact that I saw a kid get murdered as if it were child's play by an adult on t.v was crazy. And Arya heads down into darkness little by little. Can't wait till the game starts up again next week.

I'll say this only in defense of myself and mt comment. The first 2 ep were on point with what I wanted and had not expected to see. This ep however felt a little off from the political dramas that I wanted to see. The action is a plus but real gem for me is manipulation of the king(s) through the snake like characters in court. I know see the war of the five kings will be epic and all,But for me the thing that is most appealing is Tyrion's ability to see those scheming against him and King Robert last bastard son and Ayria's relationship. I'm patiently waiting for Joffery's head on a pike.

does anyone else think we're gonna see the Boltons during season 2? I think it's pretty much impossible to tell the story in season 2 without Roose, Ramsay and Reek, especially considering what theon's about to do :).

theres a comment up there about not having an end game in mind. george martin said that while he knows how the story will end, he hasent figured out the hows yet. if you think there are to manny characters now then wait until the end of this season. by season 3 (if they stay at the pace they are going and remain faithful to the books) you will absolutely find yourself on hbo.com checking the familty trees and historys. its simply fantastic.
