Darren Aronofsky will no longer be helming the Watchmen film.

Darren Aronofsky (Pi, Requiem for a Dream) is off The Watchmen movie project, according to Ain't It Cool News.

Instead, Aronofsky will spend his time directing Hugh Jackman in The Fountain. Since Paramount wants The Watchmen in theaters in the summer of 2006, it is likely to pick a new director soon, the site says.
