Zack Snyder's Latest Instagram Post Has Whipped The #RestoreTheSnyderVerse Crowd Into A Frenzy

Zack Snyder has shared another black-and-white photo to his Instagram page, and while it isn't from his DCEU days, it has given the #RestoreTheSnyderVerse plenty to shout about...

Zack Snyder's recent Instagram posts have been the source of a lot of debate online, and the divisive filmmaker's latest black-and-white photo has really whipped his supporters up - despite not actually being a callback to one of his DCEU movies.

Before he launched what came to be known as the "SnyderVerse" with Man of Steel, Snyder helmed an adaptation of Alan Moore's Watchmen, and this photo features Walter Kovacs, aka Rorschach (Jackie Earle Hayley) holding the sign he carries when he decides to take some time off from beating the crap out of criminals.

As you might expect, the #RestoreTheSnyderVerse faithful are taking this as confirmation that the "end is nigh" for James Gunn's DCU, and Snyder will soon make his triumphant return to continue his saga.

While this is highly - highly - unlikely, speculation has been fuelled by the potential Warner Bros. Discovery sale and recent developments surrounding Comcast or Paramount reportedly enlisting financial backing from Saudi Arabia, as well as grifters like Cosmic Book News claiming to have "confirmed" that the "deal is done," and the SnyderVerse will return.

Whether you happen to buy into this or not (please don't), Snyder does seem to be leaning into the renewed furore with these posts, and certainly hasn't done much to dissuade his supporters from continuing their campaign.

The fact of the matter is, Superman was enough of a success for WB to greenlight Man of Tomorrow, and there are numerous other DCU projects currently in various stages of development. Do you really think that the studio is going to scrap an entire slate because a vocal minority of fans want Zack Snyder to direct Justice League 2?

"In an alternate 1985 America, costumed superheroes are part of everyday life. When one of his former comrades is murdered, masked vigilante Rorschach (Jackie Earle Haley) uncovers a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his retired associates, only one of which has true powers, Rorschach glimpses a far-reaching conspiracy involving their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the world's future."
