Though a few details have been revealed (some by cast member Patti LuPone), for the most part, the plot of Agatha: Coven of Chaos remains shrouded in secrecy. Previous rumors have indicated that Mephisto (Sacha Baron Cohen) will feature, which understandably led to speculation that the demonic sorcerer would serve as the main villain of the show.
However, a new report is now claiming that an entirely different group of characters will be introduced as the primary antagonists.
Scooper Daniel Richtman (via Patreon) believes Salem's Seven will make their debut in the WandaVision spin-off, and Okwui Okpokwasili (The Interpreter) - who has yet to be officially announced as a cast member - will lead the team.
In the comics, these guys were the children of Nicholas Scratch (making them Agatha's grandchildren). They were magically-powered humans who had the ability to transform into animal hybrid/demonic creatures. According to Richtman, they will "head for Westview to seek revenge against Agatha Harkness."
If we had to hazard a guess, we'd say Okpokwasili will play Scratch's eldest daughter, Vertigo, but the group also consists of Brutacus, Gazelle, Hydron, Reptilla, Thornn, and Vakume.
Will the Seven ultimately be revealed to be doing the bidding of Mephisto, perhaps?
Coven of Chaos will focus on powerful witch Agatha Harkness, who almost managed to defeat the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) in the season finale of WandaVision before being bested and trapped in Westview in her "nosy neighbour Agnes" persona.
Though Olsen is not expected to appear, there's speculation that Wanda might have something to do with Harkness' release and/or reformation following the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Jac Schaeffer, who is under a joint overall deal with Marvel and 20th Television, will serve as writer and executive producer and will also helm multiple episodes along with Gandja Monteiro (Wednesday; The Chi) and Rachel Goldberg (Cloak & Dagger; Mayans M.C.)
