WandaVision introduced us to the MCU's take on Agatha Harkness, with Kathryn Hahn's villainous witch going undercover in Westview as "Agnes" in a bid to steal the Scarlet Witch's powers. Her plan ultimately failed and Agatha was left trapped in the mind of her sitcom counterpart.
We'll return to Westview in Agatha: Coven of Chaos, but should we expect more catchy songs? "Agatha All Along" revealed that she was responsible for some of the sinister events in Wanda Maximoff's new reality, and Hahn has now teased more songs for the upcoming spin-off.
Talking to TV Line, the actress revealed what excites her most about revisiting this role.
"Um, her costumes and her nails. They’re fabulous," Hahn started. "And who knows, there may be a little song here or there...but no one is saying anything about that - certainly not me!"
So, it sounds like we're definitely more tunes, though topping WandaVision's Emmy-winning effort will be no easy feat. We've actually had our suspicions about Agatha: Coven of Chaos including musical numbers for a while, especially after Tony Award and Grammy winner Patti Lupone was added to the show's cast.
It will be fun seeing how Marvel Studios handles these songs, especially as we're no latter trapped in the confines of the Scarlet Witch's sitcoms. However, with magic at play (it's thought Agatha is targeted by a Coven of witches), we're gearing up to take a closer look at the MCU's weird, wacky side.
WandaVision Head Writer Jac Schaeffer will return in that role and as a director, with the full creative team revealed last Friday. Ironheart will pit science against magic, of course, and between these stories and Werewolf by Night, it seems Marvel Studios is finally going to explore the MCU's supernatural side.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos is currently set to premiere on Disney+ sometime in late 2023 or early 2024.
