DAREDEVIL Star Charlie Cox Weighs In On Sigourney Weaver Joining THE DEFENDERS
While we still don't know who exactly she's playing, Charlie Cox has weighed in on Alien star Sigourney Weaver being added to the all-star cast of The Defenders as the show's mysterious villain...
At this year's New York Comic-Con, it was revealed that Sigourney Weaver will play the villain in The Defenders. As of right now, we have no idea which role she's taking on (though we do have some theories), but this is by far one of the most exciting additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date. During a new interview, Daredevil's Charlie Cox was asked to weigh in on what she'll bring to the table.
It goes without saying that the British actor is obviously very excited to work with the Alien star!
"You know, when she came on stage with us at New York Comic Con, I wanted to say, 'In Hell's Kitchen, no one hears you scream.' I don't think it gets better than Sigourney Weaver. I think we are immensely lucky to have her. It's a testament to shows like Daredevil and Luke Cage and Jessica Jones. The quality of those shows have drawn someone of her caliber, which is very exciting for us. I can't wait to read it and have a scene with her. It's one of the experiences I'll probably remember for the rest of my career."
So, no clues as to who she's playing, but it's great to see the passion Cox has for working alongside Weaver in The Defenders. The fact that Marvel TV and Netflix managed to nab her before Marvel Studios is impressive to say the least, and hopefully more details about her character will be revealed when the show begins production later this year. Running for eight episodes, it's set to debut in 2017.
