Luke Cage Returns To Meet Up With An Old Friend In Latest THE DEFENDERS Set Photos

The first season of Luke Cage wrapped up with the titular hero being sent back to prison, but the latest photos from the set of The Defenders make it clear that he'll be out in plenty of time for The Defenders! We all expected that of course, but in the latest snaps from the New York set, the hero can be seen visiting a burned out car covered in flowers and memorials with Simone Missick's Misty Knight.
Who are they mourning? That's not clear, but chances are that Misty is investigating the crime and that's led to her being reunited with Luke. Mike Colter is the second member of the team to have now been spotted shooting The Defenders, but there's been no sign of Daredevil and Iron Fist or any of the heroes together. Instead, those we have seen are spending time with their own supporting casts.

This could be a sign that the characters won't immediately meet up, though that's speculation for now as we really have no idea how the eight part series will play out. As always, stay tuned for updates.

Sadly, the photos are copyrighted, so you'll have head on over to Getty Images to check them out.

Luke Cage was my least favorite of the Marvel Netflix shows.

But Defenders has the Daredevil Season 2 showrunners, so I have no doubt it will kick ass.

@PsychoticSpaceRaccoon - Daredevil season 2 in my opinion is by far the weakest. And I say that knowing full well that it's still fantastic. It's a testament to how good the Netflix series have been. It is a little worrisome that the Season 2 guys are doing Defenders but with how good everything has been I think it will still be great. Especially since the writing wasn't the issue with Daredevil Season 2 it was the fact that it tried to do too much, it suffers from Iron Man 2 syndrome. Being a sequel to an amazing show, trying to set up a team up, and also spinning off a character for his own series. It was just a little too busy for my liking. Here's hoping that it isn't an issue with Defenders!
