ECHO: New Details About Marvel Spotlight Series Revealed Including A Big Daredevil And Jessica Jones Update

More rumoured details about Marvel Studios' plans for Echo have been revealed, including how much of the Man Without Fear we'll see and whether Jessica Jones is still expected to make an appearance...

The narrative surrounding Echo has changed a great deal since the first trailer for the Marvel Spotlight series was released. However, for anyone expecting it to be Daredevil's series as much as it is Maya Lopez's, it may be wise to temper expectations.

According to some new rumours doing the rounds on social media, the Man Without Fear will simply make a cameo appearance to establish his and Wilson Fisk's place in a corner of the MCU which hasn't been explored before now.

Talking of The Kingpin, all signs point to Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk being a crucial part of Echo as he attempts to shape her into someone who uses her rage as fuel the same way he does. She turned her back on him in the most violent way possible in Hawkeye but the trailer strongly hinted that the Kingpin of Crime isn't done with her yet.

Echo is expected to be largely standalone, though we'd be shocked if she doesn't show up in Daredevil: Born Again (unless the nature of this series is to just have her exist on the fringes of the MCU, leaving Marvel Studios to revisit the character if and when they choose). Another character we're expecting to see there - and someone who was once rumoured to appear in this series - is Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones.

Unfortunately, it sounds like plans for the P.I. in Echo were scrapped some time ago, so here's hoping we get a Defenders reunion when Matt Murdock returns to our screens in his series.

Check out these new Echo rumours below.

The five-episode streaming event spotlights Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) as she is pursued by Wilson Fisk's (Vincent D'Onofrio) criminal empire. When the journey brings her home, she must confront her own family and legacy.

Echo also stars Chaske Spencer (Wild IndianThe English), Graham Greene (1883Goliath), Tantoo Cardinal (Killers of the Flower MoonStumptown), Devery Jacobs (FX's Reservation DogsAmerican Gods), Zahn McClarnon (Dark Winds, FX's Reservation Dogs), Cody Lightning (Hey, Viktor!Four Sheets to the Wind) and Vincent D’Onofrio (HawkeyeGodfather of Harlem).

The series is directed by Sydney Freeland (Navajo) and Catriona McKenzie (Gunaikurnai).

All five episodes of Echo will premiere on Disney+ and Hulu on January 10.
