Daredevil
We've all been begging for this show since the rights reverted last year. Some wanted a movie, and evidently, that's still on the cards. Personally, I couldn't be happier this show is being made. I know I've always spouted bullshit about how much I prefer the cosmic stuff, but Daredevil is of Irish descent, so I kind of have to love the character (seein' as
Banshee is just a huge disappointment). Probably the most blatantly obvious route for this show to take is the court room drama route. Only you'd have to mix in adequate amounts of action and other things. The show would need a relatively dark tone. Like Arrow, only going that little bit closer to the line. Reason being, some of Daredevil's best stories would require an edge and a half. Take
Born Again. That story involves his life falling apart and
Karen Page slipping into drug addiction and the porno industry. You'd need to push the boundaries just enough to get the mature audience interested. As far as characters go, I think alluding to the
Kingpin throughout the series would be nice. Matt could be tracking a bunch of different leads, each one turning out to be duds like,
Silvermane,
Hammerhead or
the Owl. We wouldn't see the Kingpin in the series, he'd be saved for later on. The setting, would of course be
Hell's Kitchen. Matt's motivation to hunt down the Kingpin would be due to the grip of crime beginning to resurface in the Kitchen.
Elektra would be better off left until season 2. Reason being that the last thing we need is a crowded show.
Arrow has found that balance. The show knows where to keep it when it comes to the heroes on the show and then they can go nuts with the villains, as is plainly evident, seeing as the show will soon feature
The League of Assassins and with that comes
Ra's Al Ghul as well as bringing in
The Flash and so on and so forth. Arrow has now become the gateway for the DCCU to get heroes into the movies. We'll be getting Flash later on in this season of Arrow and that's what I think should be done with Elektra. Introduce her within the final three episodes, then develop her, tell her origin and then the spinoff series might be a possibility. Obviously,
Bullseye would be introduced in season one of Daredevil and built up as this
really efficient killer and whatnot and then they could bring in the whole story of Elektra's death.
Luke Cage
At the start of the show, we'd find Carl Lucas in financial trouble. He has unpaid bills, eviction notices, all that sort of stuff. Instant relatability to the common man. Lucas would be a guy people are expecting to be super and he's no better than Hancock. Then we learn he hasn't got powers yet. In desperation, he goes to the
Power Broker to try and make money off being a super powered vigilante. (I think the Power Broker may be behind the Centipede and all that sort of stuff in
AoS). Lucas is then framed for murder, as is the way of the comics, and thrown in jail. He escapes and now the show is like
Prison Break but better (obviously the seasons after the breakout). He changes his name to Luke Cage, shaves his head and starts fighting crime on the streets. Cage would be working on a small area, so the best tone for the show, in my mind, is
Love/Hate mixed with a bit of Arrow. (Love/Hate is an Irish show about gangland Dublin, it's pretty good). Cage too notices a surge in crime. As he investigates he runs into the likes of B-List villains, like
Whirlwind or
Grey Gargoyle. In the final episodes, Cage catches up with the
Power Broker, who it turns out is not behind the crime increase at all. It is the elusive figure of the Kingpin. This teases the eventual
Defenders crossover of the four series and is our first tease of the event. Luke sets out with the goal of setting up his own team. This would set up the
Heroes For Hire for a future t.v. series.
Iron Fist
This show wouldn't have any kind of reflection of the tones presented in the other two that have been aired so far (if they are aired in this order). The show would be set entirely in the mythical city of
K'un L'un for the first half of the season. The show would be about Danny Rand's journey to becoming Iron Fist in preparation for the battle with the
Beast of the Hand.
The Hand ninja organisation would be the main villains led by
Typhoid Mary, with a further allusion to them being employed by the Kingpin. Rand would basically be going from Hand hideout to Hand hideout, trying to find information on this mysterious man behind the curtain. On his way he encounters villains like, possibly a returning
Batroc the Leaper or even a brief dispute with
Shang Chi, who eventually teams up with Danny in order to take on the Beast of the Hand. After which, Danny decides to stay in New York and continue the search for the Kingpin.
Jessica Jones/ AKA Jessica Jones/ Jewel
If this show is anything like what we heard it would be, then it fits in quite nicely with what I've presented so far. An exec once said the show was going to be quite adult, even having sex scenes and strong violence. It was to have been a detective show, with super powers. Well, it can still be just that in order to fit into this series of shows. Once again, the shw focuses on the sudden and unnatural rise in crime in the city of New York and the police are baffled and spread thin across the city (sounds like a Star Wars monologue). Jones would be the only detective working on the Kingpin case as others find it laughable that one man could control all the crime, in New York, of all places. We see Jones use every asset she has to find information as she is so determined to get to the bottom of it all. As a bit of fun, if it's possible, a teenage photographer could turn up at one point and quiz her on the topic before randomly vanishing. This show would be the one that ties in with the Defenders crossover series the most. Jones would discover the identity of the Kingpin in the final episode and we get our first look at him, too. A Defenders teaser would then be pretty possible as an end credit stinger.
The Defenders
We then get onto the Defenders mini-series. The way I see it is Jones hearing of Luke's new business, Hero For Hire, and she takes great interest. The pair meet for the first time and there has to be instant chemistry there. You have to know they're gonna get with each other down the line somewhere. The duo go to follow up a lead on the Kingpin, who we now know is Wilson Fisk. The meeting is ambushed by an overwhelming number of the Hand. Daredevil sits atop a roof beside a gargoyle, some distance away when he hears the sounds of the battle and makes his way to the scene. Jessica and Luke hold the fort quite well, but eventually it gets to be too much. Daredevil arrives and takes some of the pressure off. The now trio dispatch what remains of the ninja and a few make an escape. Those few inform the Kingpin of what transpired. Outraged, he calls in Bullseye, Typhoid Mary and Batroc as his mercenaries with which to dispatch these thorns in his side. All this occurs in the first episode, the remainder of the series is full action and fight scenes between the heroes and their respective villains. In between that, we see Jessica's and Luke's relationship blossom. We get so see the strong bond of friendship forming between Danny and Luke. Daredevil distances himself from the group and Jessica reaches out to him, but he remains solemn. The big finale would involve the group going to Fisk tower and taking on the Kingpin himself. To this particular group, the Kingpin actually poses a viable threat as he is quite strong and skilled in many fighting styles. With the end of the series, we as the audience are left to wonder, what now?
Predictions for after the Defenders
Post-Defenders, Danny and Luke go into business together and return in a
Heroes For Hire tv series. Daredevil continues as a solo series with potential to provide characters for spinoff shows like,
Elektra and
Moon Knight. Jessica Jones would be more or less the same only now the show wouldn't need the Kingpin influence and could go pretty much anywhere. A good storyline to do would be introducing the
Punisher as a criminal/vigilante who Jones hunts down. Jessica and Matt could also frequently appear in each other's tv shows, as they are the most law-influenced of the series that are there.
