With Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) being the most human and arguably most relatable Avenger, it's no surprise that he's formed some of the most endearing bonds in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially with his surrogate daughter of sorts, Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), who he's looked out for ever since her brother sacrificed himself in order to save Clint in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
While Wanda is currently busy studying the Darkhold, Clint is about to embark on an all-new holiday adventure in Marvel's Hawkeye, where he'll meet his most iconic partner from the comics, Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld). It's now fair to wonder whether his two protégés could ever cross paths.
During the global press conference earlier this week, CBM's own Rohan Patel got a chance to submit a question to Hawkeye himself, Jeremy Renner, and asked him what he thought about the possibility of Kate Bishop teaming up with the newly-minted Scarlet Witch.
Steinfeld instinctively, with a very big smile, oohed at the prospect while Renner in typical Clint Barton fashion answered, "Yeah, sure. Sounds good to me. Why not? Yeah, I love them. [LAUGH] What if?"
Whether or not it actually happens remains to be seen, but it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility as both Olsen's Wanda and Steinfeld's Kate are expected to play big roles moving forward into the next decade of the MCU. It would definitely be a very cool on-screen moment if Clint ever got to see his two surrogate daughters team up in a future Marvel adventure.
In addition to the dynamic duo of Renner (Captain America: Civil War; Avengers: Endgame) and Steinfeld (Dickinson; Bumblebee), Hawkeye's supporting cast will consist of Vera Farmiga (The Departed; Up in the Air) as Eleanor Bishop, Tony Dalton (Better Call Saul; Sense8) as Jack Duquesne, Fra Fee (Cinderella; Les Misérables) as Kazi, Zahn McClarnon (Westworld; Doctor Sleep) as William Lopez, Brian d’Arcy James (Spotlight; X-Men: Dark Phoenix) in an undisclosed role, newcomer Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, a.k.a. Echo, and Florence Pugh (Black Widow; Little Women) as Yelena Belova.
Linda Cardellini (Avengers: Endgame; Avengers: Age of Ultron) will also reprise her role as Clint's wife Laura Barton, while Ava Russo, Ben Sakamoto, and Cade Woodward will return as the Barton children Lila, Cooper, and Nathaniel, respectively.
Jonathan Igla (Mad Men; Sorry for Your Loss) is serving as showrunner, with Rhys Thomas (Staten Island Summer; Saturday Night Live) and the filmmaking duo Bert and Bertie (Troop Zero; The Great) serving as directors on the six-episode series.
The first two episodes will start streaming on Wednesday, November 24, followed by weekly episode drops until the show's finale on December 22.
