HAWKEYE Star Hailee Steinfeld Shares A Costumed Selfie From The Set Of Upcoming Disney+ Series

For months, Hailee Steinfeld's possible role in Hawkeye was hotly debated online, but the actress has since been confirmed as the MCU's Kate Bishop, and just dropped a costumed selfie from the show's set!

Hailee Steinfeld's role in Apple TV+'s Dickinson cast doubt on the Academy Award nominee joining the MCU for Hawkeye, but set photos later confirmed that she'll be suiting up as Clint Barton's protégé, Kate Bishop.

Marvel Studios made the casting official during Disney's Investor Day in December, and the stage is now set for the Bumblebee star to take on a key role in this comic book universe. As the new Hawkeye, she's likely to be a pivotal member of the Young Avengers, and someone who has a recurring presence in the MCU not all that different to Jeremy Renner's heroic archer.

While we've yet to see a single official still from Hawkeye, star Hailee Steinfeld has dropped a costumed selfie which, while not overly revealing, might prove just how perfect she is for this role.

Rounding out the cast of the Marvel Studios series are Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d'Arcy James, and newcomer Alaqua Cox (who will star as Maya Lopez).

Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye, helmed by Rhys Thomas and directing duo Bert and Bertie, is set to premiere on Disney+ in late 2021, so expect more intel on the series to be revealed over the summer.

Off topic.....sorta. but besides shutting down productions for safety/covid concerns have there been any covid cases while filming MCU films or are they keeping that under wraps. Cause a few DC movies paused production cause of actual cases but cabt for the life of me think of any for Marvel. I know the Shang Chi director stepped down for concerns but that was probably the biggest thing out of it.

@MrCamw1 - as far as I know Thor 4 is shooting in Australia, which seemingly has a very low amount of cases.
So it seems their location is benefiting them. I could see them shoot other projects there as well to evade covid regulations.

@Blergh - sure but I mean through the whole year plus of them filming all these shows and movies not one covid case arrived on set for them?? If that's the case props to them but still.

@MrCamw1 -
I think they have probably realized that it's not worth testing for it given you can test positive within 90 days of having it - meaning if a cast or important crew member got it, it would delay the movie by potentially 90 days.

OT, but is anyone doing an article on the Michael B. Jordan/Black Panther 2 thing? He pretty much indirectly confirmed that he’s involved with it

@DaHyro - His character should just stay dead.

@DaHyro - What happened?
DaHyro
DaHyro - 2/8/2021, 10:10 AM
@soberchimera - I’m indifferent on it. While I loved his character and death, I wouldn’t be against a return + redemption arc for him. It could be really powerful seeing someone as radical as him open himself up for change, if done well.

@Kumkani - He said he “can’t say too much” about his involvement in BP2 then struggles to find his way back to what he was saying in past interviews (i’d love to come back if they wanted me).

It kind of confirms that there IS something going on with him

@DaHyro - hopefully just an appearance in the afterlife

@DaHyro - I'm all for him making some small appearance in the ancestral plane, but with all the talk of him coming back to life/being the new Black Panther... like, that's messed up, right? Can we talk about that? The sheer meta disconnect between "we are not going to recast the main character out of respect for the actor's tragic passing" and people thinking "they should totally bring back the dead villain who CHOSE to die, emphatically rejecting the idea of rehabilitation or redemption on the face of it"? Because that actually makes me a little upset to think about.
DaHyro
DaHyro - 2/8/2021, 10:43 AM
@TheScarletTroll - I don’t know.. he rejected the idea of being a prisoner, not redemption exactly. He didn’t want to be just another black man behind bars. It was powerful, but honestly, giving him a redemption arc is the most ideal direction after Chadwick’s passing.

Having him start to see things the way T’Challa did, all while trying to see where he went wrong, could make for a great character arc.

I see what you mean, though. It would TOTALLY be a retcon.
TheScarletTroll
TheScarletTroll - 2/8/2021, 10:47 AM
@DaHyro - It's not even about it being a retcon. No sarcasm or anything, I'm genuinely curious what makes it the "ideal direction", because to me, the notion of resurrecting the VILLAIN of the previous film to serve as the new main character when the only reason that card is even on the table is that Marvel has chosen not to recast T'Challa out of respect for his actor's real-life passing feels almost insultingly tone-deaf. Especially when there's several other still-living in-universe characters who could take up the mantle.
DaHyro
DaHyro - 2/8/2021, 10:59 AM
@TheScarletTroll - It’s just the most “interesting” way to take it IMO. For me, it’s too soon for Shuri to take up the mantle (not even gonna touch the actor’s controversy lol). Okoye would be interesting too, but i just think Eric getting his own redemption arc could make for some really compelling stories.

Plus, it’d be nice to have another Coogler movie with MBJ as the lead haha

Seems Disney got his scandals back under control though. No one gets to hurt the family friendly image of the House of Mouse.

That being said I do hope he's off his addiction. Cocaine can be one hell of a problem. Sadly A LOT of filmmakers I know have an issue with coke, most of them film school darlings.

@ShellyMando - Horny Jail is bullshit. Just another means of societal control by the Privatized For-Profit Perversion Complex. They don't teach people how to stop being horny there because they want people to keep being horny.

I've been in an out of Horny Jail all my life and you know what I learned? Three damn things:
