Earlier today, Netflix completed its purge of all Marvel shows as we got official word that both Jessica Jones and The Punisher will join Daredevil, Iron Fist and Luke Cage on the cancelled list.

Jon Bernthal already shared a tribute to his character while thanking the fans for their support, and now Krysten Ritter has followed suit.

Ritter took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes photo from a recent Jessica Jones season 3 table read. The actress is pictured alongside cast mates Rachael Taylor, Eka Darville, and Carrie Anne Moss, as well as showrunner Melissa Rosenberg.

Taken a few weeks back at the table read for our SERIES FINALE. I love these people to the moon and back. It has been a dream to play Jessica alongside my amazing cast and the best crew in the business for these past 5 years. I am so grateful for every second of it. We have THE BEST fans. You guys mean the world to me and I appreciate you beyond words. The final season of #JessicaJones is coming later this year and I am proud of how we complete JJ’s journey. I can’t wait for you all to see it. Stay tuned and more to come. 💪🏻🖤 (Also my creator/ showrunner/ partner/ bff @melissa.rosenberg is totally wearing a #krystenknitter original ☺️☺️) @rachaelmaytaylor @ekadarville @carrieannemoss @netflix @marvelsjessicajones @marvel

This is obviously sad news for fans of the show, but at least we will get to see the hard-drinking PI return for one final adventure when Jessica Jones season 3 airs later this year.

Bring on Hellcat. So bittersweet. Very excited to see this third season but I dread it all being over.

The good thing is Jessica Jones writers must have seen the writing on the wall and hopefully given it something of a conclusion like Punisher and Daredevil fortunately did. Hopefully it doesn't end on a cliffhanger like Iron Fist and Luke Cage.

I loved Jessica Jones S1. David Tennant stole the show. Best Marvel/Netflix villain imo.

@MrDandy -

To each their own. Kilgrave and Kingpin are definitely the best Marvel/Netflix villains.
