LOKI Fans Concerned That Head Writer Michael Waldron Is Also Leaving The Series After Cryptic Tweet

Loki director Kate Herron has confirmed she won't return for the second season of the series, but could Head Writer Michael Waldron also be moving on? A cryptic Tweet has fans thinking that's the case.

The first season of Loki has received widespread critical acclaim, and while the news that season two is heading our way has excited fans, the show has also lost director Kate Herron.

That's quite a blow for the Disney+ series, but could another be on the way? Yesterday evening, Head Writer Michael Waldron took to Twitter to share a still from the season premiere showing the God of Mischief looking at that "End Of File" screen after his future self is murdered by Thanos.

Some have wondered whether this is just Waldron acknowledging the end of the season - and Loki's press "tour" - but the vast majority are getting worried that he is also moving on from the series. Writer and producer Eric Martin is already working on the story based on a recent Tweet, but it's hard not to look at this and be a little concerned about Waldron's MCU future.

He has signed an overall deal with Disney and after penning Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, he was tasked with penning Kevin Feige's Star Wars movie. It's possible he wants a break from the MCU or is working on something else entirely for the studio, but we won't know until he or Disney/Marvel Studios share further comments.

Check out Waldron's Tweet below and keep checking back here for Loki updates!

Losing both him and Herron would be a big blow.

Keeping whoever he had in his writers room is imperative though too.
