Loki was among the shows nominated at this weekend's Writers Guild Awards, but the God of Mischief's first season, unfortunately, failed to walk away with any prizes. Beaten by Hacks in the "New Series" category, it also lost out to Succession in the "Drama Series" category.
Bisha K. Ali, Elissa Karasik, Eric Martin, and Head Writer Michael Waldron were among those nominated on behalf of the Marvel Studios TV series, and the latter has now shared the acceptance speech submitted for use had Loki won. It turns out actress Tara Strong was enlisted to return as Miss Minutes for a fun speech which sees her threaten the writers and audience with being pruned.
Why? Well, she points out that Succession should have won (which it obviously did), meaning that Loki's win had taken place in a branched timeline.
It's clever and very funny, and Waldron sharing this provides a glimpse into what might have been. It also means we get to hear Strong reprise a role that fans fell in love with during Loki's first season, and the hope is the veteran voice actress will be back for the show's planned second season.
As for Waldron, he also penned the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and is believed to be hard at work writing Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige's upcoming Star Wars movie.
