MS. MARVEL's Latest Episode Finally Identifies Prison Seen In SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW Trailer

The latest episode of Ms. Marvel took us to an intriguing new location that was first glimpsed in the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law trailer. What does this mean for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Despite telling stories in theaters and on streaming, Marvel Studios is very much taking its time revealing what Phase 4 and beyond will be about. While the prevailing theory is that Kang the Conqueror will be the MCU's new Thanos, some fans have expressed concerns that all these different projects currently feel a tad directionless.

The movies and TV shows are starting to link up, though, and the latest episode of Ms. Marvel featured a noteworthy nod to She-Hulk: Attorney at Law

There's been a lot of speculation about what the prison spotted in that show's trailer might be, and it turns out that the location isn't one from the comic books. Instead, Marvel Studios had created the Department of Damage Control Supermax Prison, further solidifying the one-time cleanup crew as a formidable force in the MCU.

Spider-Man: No Way Home established the organization as a police force of sorts, and we've seen them go from hunting Peter Parker to taking aim at Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel. We don't know who else is being kept here, but they do have Abomination locked up, and we'd bet on the D.O.D.C. having gained power during The Blip (similar to what happened with S.W.O.R.D.).

It wouldn't remotely surprise us if Valentina Allegra de Fontaine is pulling the strings here and we could quite easily be looking at the eventual base for the Thunderbolts.

The ClanDestine made short work of the guards and escaped with ease, so we're not sure how Emil Blonsky hasn't already broken out! Of course, many fans believe Abomination will have reformed by the time She-Hulk rolls around, moving on from the villainous ways we saw in The Incredible Hulk

Are you excited to see more of this intriguing new MCU location?

Not to be that guy but actually it was first glimpsed in Shang-Chi. You can see Abominations cell as him and Wong go through the portal after their cage match.

That prison escape was hilariously poor. A prison built specifically to hold supes is overcome by a teenage kid with no powers. Whole episode bar the ending was whack

@Cap1 - yup delegitimizes the prison big time

This was a poor episode. I did like Red Dagger though

That prison scene was awful and looked super cheap.

Hmm, if it had been a basic damage control interrogation center, I could've believed the escape better - but if it's a supermax prison fit to hold Abomination, then the sequence is extremely questionable.

Overall the ClanDestine feel kind of low budget as villains. Not like the source material was all that strong but they could've at least designed costumes for them.

What about the Raft?

@DanFlashesShirt - What, did you expect the MCU to keep going forward with the things they already established?

@DanFlashesShirt - I see RAFT like the MCU version of a black site. So there are public prisons, but for the more covert ops they send to RAFT.

I'm hoping She-Hulk is the show that tackles the legal issues that the Sokovia Accords actual presents. And how it has allowed governments to infringe on Civil rights. I mean we've seen it touched a bit in Ms. Marvel, but I want this shit actually tackled. Like perhaps Jennifer is working for the government in favor of the accords, but then someone like Matt Murdock shows up to say how this hurts not just superpowered individuals, but the entirety of the human race.

And here I was thinking Damage Control just took control of damage, not the actual imprisonment of individuals responsible for said damage. Isn't there a DoJ that takes care of that?

I find it interesting and quite bothersome that the only Marvel/Disney+ shows that have even touched on The Snap were FATWS and Hawkeye. The rest have basically ignored that massive event.

After five years of the world being left in turmoil....and then being hit with half of the population being thrown back into the mix five years later....the chaos should have been astounding.

People appearing in apartments and homes where they used to live and now someone else lives there.
Hospitals being overwhelmed by the sick patients who were snapped away and now appear with tons of other current patients.
Just two examples.

Now we look at last night's episode of Ms. Marvel and the heavily populated Pakistan is just life as normal.
No chaos, no overcrowding, no turmoil. Life just goes on as usual.

Yes, I know it has been three years, but when the earth has been so disrupted over those five years prior....even after three years there are still going to be major issues.

Marvel is dodging that and barely addressing something that momentous, when honestly they really should address it more intensely in every storyline, or at least produce a show of different stories showing the effects of the Snap from different perspectives and connect it all together.

So my theory thus far is that DODC (Department of Damage Control) have become the American branch for the Sokovia Accords. This explains why they came for Spider-Man in No Way Home and SWORD had to confirm that Nick Fury was off world and played no role in the events of Far From Home. Them using the Stark drones to hunt Ms. Marvel also adds to their true intentions. The Sokovia Accords or at least the American Division wants their own Avengers team and those who do not comply will be arrested, prosecuted, and contained. It wouldn't surprise me of Valentina is the recruiter for the Thunderbolts program funded entirely by DODC off the books. So instead of officers and drones coming for heroes it's the Thunderbolts. This makes me think The Thunderbolts will be the team assembling to hunt down a new MCU hero like let's say.....Blade?
