"Look at yourself. What do you see? Your choices, mistakes... The past leaves nowhere to hide. Ones you loved... you trusted... The worst scars are on the inside. They never heal.

After a well-received, scene-stealing turn in the second season of Marvel's Daredevil last year, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) is back for Round 2 in his very own Netflix original series, The Punisher.

The series finally launched last night at 3 a.m. EST (12 p.m. PST) and it should hardly come as a surprise that many worldwide (and many on this site) have already finished the entire first season, which sees Castle return to New York on a mission to uncover the secrets of his past and to avenge the tragic murder of his family.

To generate even more hype post-release, Netflix has released a pretty sweet new teaser video, with a intense new voiceover from Bernthal, as well as the opening credits from the series. Check out both videos below:

After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.

The Punisher features:
Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher
Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page
Ben Barnes as Billy Russo/Jigsaw
Ebon Moss-Bachrach as David Lieberman/Micro
Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani
Michael Nathanson as Sam Stein
Daniel Webber as Lewis Walcott
Jason R. Moore as Curtis Hoyle
Paul Schulze as Rawlins
Jaime Ray Newman as Sarah Lieberman
Shohreh Aghdashloo as Farah Madani

The Punisher is now streaming on Netflix!

I haven't been able to see it, yet. With Justice League shenanigans, there's just too much going on. Superman's character was just perfect, though. Man, that resurrection scene!

After Iron Fist & the disappointment by the name of Defenders I thought they had lost their mojo with their Netflix series but holy shit- was I wrong. They blew it out of the water with this one, I'm soo happy to say they're back.... I'm loving The Punisher rn. So far I'm on episode 9 and it keeps getting better and better.

I got to see the first episode and so far is great. I can't wait to see the rest.

I’m on episode 6. I [frick]ing love it. Just as good as Daredevil S1 and S2, maybe better. JJ, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Defenders are absolute crap so my expectations were low, especially since the trailer seemed a little dull. But this is incredible. The scene set to Tom Wait’s ‘Hell Broke Luce’. Bernthal’s amazing acting. And the scene set to a song by my favourite singer, the White Buffalo. The lyrics matched so perfectly.

If you haven’t heard it, go listen to The White Buffalo’s concept album ‘Shadows, Greys and Evil Ways’. The songs Joey White and The Whistler would fit the show well too.

@connorblaze - Dude thanks for naming that song/band. I've never heard of these guys but damn I really liked it once it came on. And very true, it does match well with the scene!

On episode 11 and it has been simply amazing. This is definitely right up there with Daredevil season one and Jessica Jones. Heck, it might even be the best one of the three. Bernthal owes Frank Castle.

@Thanson - I'm right there with you. I went in thinking it would be okay. I'm on the last episode and I'm completely won over.
Wow. For me, no filler episodes at all. Everything had a purpose and helped to forward the narrative.
This is my favorite netflix show

Nine episodes in and this show hasn't stopped being great. I truly don't know why some of the reviews are so mixed, but this is one of the best series Netflix has put out yet.

Currently on Episode 3. It's great. I was scared by the disappoiting RT score, but it has been solid so far despite being quite different from what I expected. Based on reviews, it may get even better towards the end; if that's true then awesome.

However, not a fan of the music choice. That intro is also underwhelming.

@KIDCOM - think the music is on point, the opening into is like an alt take on Cash’s “God’s Gonna Cut you Down”. Which is perfect for Frank.

@DENNISsystem - well maybe for this Old Man Logan version of Frank, it's on point. But I can't see this kind of music associated with The Punisher character in general. I like the dark badass Punisher theme in DD S2.

The Punisher is definitely my favorite Marvel series. It's basically Netflix John Wick. I absolutely love it. Jon Bernthal is a phenomenal actor.

Yo, I just bingewatched the whole season and after that, nobody can tell me sh!t about Marvel or Disney being too comical or having too much fluff!

Logan and DP don't have Jack on the blood and gore in Punisher. Hell, it seemed like he was getting punished more than the criminals were in most episodes.

Definitely wasn't for kids so shut up with being worried if DP ever lands back at Marvel.

I give it and 8/10.

@figuresmaniac - Yeah, I was a little worried by the reviews at first, but this show gives me faith that the Netflix shows might go back to form. It's definitely up there with Daredevil S1, and Jessica Jones.
