Like the show itself, Netflix is keeping us guessing with
Black Mirror.
Earlier this month, the verified Netflix Twitter account
posted an image of what's coming to the streaming service in December. At the bottom of the image was
Black Mirror on December 28,
leading to speculation that the hit sci-fi suspense/drama will return for its fifth season this month.
Interestingly, the schedule listed something called
Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, which at the time was thought to be the title of the first episode. But as we've learned this week, it could be something completely different.
According to Netflix's
own listing,
Black Mirror: Bandersnatch appears to be "A Netflix Film." Unfortunately, the listing doesn't offer any details but its simple existence is enough of a confirmation that
Black Mirror: Bandersnatch is real and will likely be with us by the end of the month. Whether or not this is part of season five or a complete one-off to hold us over remains to be seen.
There's no actual description, just the "Be right back" teaser that Netflix often uses for the show's promos.
Black Mirror was renewed for a fifth season back in March of this year with an intriguing teaser that promised: "The future will be brighter than ever."
