This Mother's Day, vengeance is a mother!
Netflix has released the official trailer for their upcoming action thriller The Mother, which stars Primetime Emmy-nominee Jennifer Lopez (Marry Me; Shotgun Wedding) as a contract killer who comes out of hiding to rescue the daughter she gave up years ago from a very dangerous group led by Werewolf By Night star Gael García Bernal.
"I'm a killer. But I'm also a mother. And I will die protecting her.," proclaims Lopez in the two-and-a-half minute teaser which sets the stage for what looks like an entertaining actioner. The film should also be a nice appetizer before Netflix drops Chris Hemsworth's Extraction 2 in June.
In addition to Lopez, the film stars Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid's Tale; American Horror Story: Asylum), Lucy Paez (Silencio; Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar), Omari Hardwick (Army of the Dead; Power), Paul Raci (Sound of Metal; Perry Mason), Gael García Bernal (Werewolf By Night; Old), Jesse Garcia (Ambulance; Sons of Anarchy), and Yvonne Senat Jones (Sneakerella; The Orville).
Niki Caro (Mulan; The Zookeeper's Wife) helmed the feature, with a screenplay from Misha Green, Andrea Berloff, and Peter Craig.
The Mother starts streaming this Mother's Day weekend on May 12!
