The Umbrella Academy fans were hoping to see a first trailer for the upcoming third season during Netflix's recent Tudum event, and while that wasn't to be, the streamer has now shared some intriguing updates along with a couple of promo videos (no actual footage from the show, unfortunately).
The first - which can be found on The Umbrella Academy‘s Netflix page under the “Trailers & More” section - features a brief animated sequence along with the announcement that our dysfunctional superhero family will return to our screens sometime in the new year. We also have confirmation that the season will play out (partially, at least) in Hotel Oblivion, a location that should be familiar to fans of the comic books.
The second video sees Justin H. Min (Ben) in-character as "Sparrow #2" as he wishes his fellow Sparrow Academy members a happy birthday (what a lovely fella).
The season 2 finale (you can check out our review HERE) saw the gang successfully save the world (again) from Armageddon, but when they returned to their own timeline, they found themselves in an alternate reality with the "Sparrow Academy" seemingly led by the now very much alive Ben Hargreeves.
Netflix recently announced the Season 3 cast additions who'll play the members of what has now been confirmed to be an "evil" incarnation of the team.
The Umbrella Academy season 3 will consist of 10 episodes (see below), with main cast members Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya and Colm Feore all set to return. Steve Blackman is also back on board as showrunner.
