Venom wasn't the greatest comic book movie we've ever seen, but it made an impact at the box office and ended with a post-credits scene that it was impossible not to be at least a little excited by.
With Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Andy Serkis will be at the helm of a sequel that finally pits these two icons against each other on the biggest screens possible. If the trailers are any indication, that's going to be a lot of fun, and we now have a downright awesome new poster for the movie.
Yes, there's a lot of Photoshop here, but the effect Sony Pictures was going for works, and it's easy enough to imagine this being a comic book cover! Honestly, we're just happy to see Shriek get the spotlight alongside Cletus Kasady, and more Carnage is never a bad thing, especially when he looks this cool.
"Tom Hardy returns to the big screen as the lethal protector Venom, one of Marvel's greatest and most complex characters," reads a brief synopsis that was released on the movie's newly launched website earlier this year. "Directed by Andy Serkis, the film also stars Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris and Woody Harrelson, in the role of the villain Cletus Kasady/Carnage."
Venom: Let There Be Carnage stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott, Stephen Graham, and Woody Harrelson. It's set to be released in theaters on October 15, 2021.
