VENOM: THE LAST DANCE Adds SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Star Rhys Ifans - Will The Lizard Return?

Following the release of the Venom: The Last Dance trailer, an official cast list has been released which confirms The Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man: No Way Home star Rhys Ifans has joined the cast.

The first trailer for Venom: The Last Dance was released earlier today and offered fans a first look at the threequel. For those of you who enjoyed Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage, this movie certainly promises to be...more of the same.

However, it seems the plan is to up the ante and have Eddie Brock facing threats from Earth and Klyntar; that's evident from a newly released synopsis.

"In Venom: The Last Dance, Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy. Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie's last dance."

You'll notice that this is now being billed as the "final film in the trilogy," not necessarily Hardy's last Venom movie, period. Still, the second half sounds quite definitive and we're undeniably curious about what "devastating decision" Eddie and his alien suit will be forced to make.

The bigger news comes from an official cast list. That includes Tom Hardy, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, Stephen Graham, and...Rhys Ifans.

Yes, The Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man: No Way Home star will appear in Venom: The Last Dance, but is he playing Dr. Curt Connors, a.k.a. The Lizard?

We don't think so. As you can see in the screenshot below, the Welsh actor has seemingly been cast as a hippie who gives Eddie a ride. Interestingly, there looks to be a young child sitting next to the Lethal Protector which may play into rumours that he'll be travelling with a young Peter Parker. We're confident in saying it's just a random kid, though!

Regardless, this is an odd move to cast Ifans as a random character after his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home (a movie Hardy also starred in courtesy of a post-credits scene), so perhaps this is a cured Connors who has moved on from being The Lizard? Or it's just Sony doing Sony things and making fans think they'll get some Multiversal cameos.

Oh, and Ifans' character has two arms!

The movie is directed by Kelly Marcel from a screenplay she wrote, based on a story by Hardy and Marcel. The film is produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Kelly Marcel, Tom Hardy and Hutch Parker.

Venom: The Last Dance will be released in theaters on October 25.

@TheCantilope - I still this version over Spider-Man 3 version of venom yeah venom Spider-Man 3 had spider on chest but still used symbiote as webbing same as ultimate venom using symbiote as webbing with no spider on chest this grows in size unlike Spider-Man 3 did not .,

Movies have comedy little over used comedy but comedy same with venom lethal protector comic series but comedy is two different types compared to comic and movies and uptime venom in comics have no spider symbole on his chest uses no webbing it didn’t come from space but it was hand made by Peter and Eddie fathers in science lab cure cancer

Stretch if he's Connors, but with Sony, and after Keaton in Morbius, he probably is unfortunately. Rhino is in Kraven...

@IAmAHoot -
Sony's Sinister Six: Morbius, Vulture, Kraven, Lizard, Rhino.

Probably going for an animal theme of some kind, so Doc Ock as the leader.

But they confirmed venomverse doesn't have a spiderman. So he's either a variant, the same lizard who somehow came to venomverse, or just a completely different character.

Money laundering by Sony. No other explanation. These films have been awful.

It's probably Connors. Even if he has two arms, probably a reason behind that.

Yeah , He’s not gonna be Connors…

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if him & Hardy are friends and he asked him if he could play this role.

It’s probably some hippie family that Eddie & Venom meet while on the run and possibly get attached to but pull them into danger aswell this they have to protect them.

It’s the Multiverse so he could just be someone that looks like connors but is a different character completely.
