VENOM: Tom Hardy Reveals His Look For Eddie Brock In An Official Production Still And New BTS Images

The official Venom Twitter account has debuted a new production still, giving us our first proper look at Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, complete with tats and bandaged arms. We also have some more set snaps.

We recently got a look at Tom Hardy arriving to the Venom set, but now we have some shots of the Mad Max: Fury Road actor actually shooting scenes as Eddie Brock. In addition, the movie's Twitter page has shared an official behind-the-scenes image of Hardy in character.

It seems this incarnation of Brock will be sporting jet-black hair as well as heavily tattooed - and bandaged - arms. Do these wounds have something to do with the Venom symbiote, perhaps?

We still don't have any solid information on the plot of Venom, but there are plenty of rumors doing the rounds. The latest suggests that the Spidey spinoff will be based on the Lethal Protector comic book arc, which saw a group of mercenaries hunting Eddie Brock after he relocates to San Francisco.

One thing we do know for sure is that director Ruben Fleischer has assembled a hell of a cast, which also includes Michelle Williams and Riz Ahmed.

Venom is set to hit theatres on October 3, 2018.

I can’t believe they gave the role to Tom Hardy. Why didn’t they bring back Topher Grace? Not only does Topher have the impressive physique to really portray Eddie Brock but he is also universally known as the greatest actor of our time.

I couldn't care any less that he doen't quite look like Brock from the comics. It's Tom f*cking Hardy and I'm just fine with that!

Can't help but get excited for this film, even with no mcu spidey.

It was a stroke of genius casting Hardy, because hardly anyone would have given this movie the time of day otherwise.

Even with Hardy, film could go either way. Zombieland was fun but everything after that for Fleischer was meh.

@BlackBeltJones - I still say Gangster Squad was a decent fun ride with a good cast. Nothing amazing, but enjoyable.

@MosquitoFarmer - I was super excited for that movie. So let down. I'm a big fan of classic gangster films.

I think Tarantino or the Coens could've did wonders with that material and that cast.

For what it was, it's a fun flick to catch on tv on a down day

@BlackBeltJones - Yeah, it certainly wasn't like a gangster flick of old and it wasn't trying to be. Oddly enough, that was the biggest complaint about it in these modern times. If I'm not mistaken one of Tarantino's next two films is a period Bonnie & Clyde type piece.
