New Details On Telltale's BATMAN Game Emerge
Telltale announced new details about their upcoming Batman video game at the recently wrapped SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, including the game's official rating and a few supporting characters.
Telltale Games is the studio now famous for episodic, graphic adventure games such as The Walking Dead, Fables and Game of Thrones. Now, the award-winning publisher is turning its attention to arguably, the most popular comic book character of modern times, Batman. Last December, Telltale announced plans for a Batman game to be released sometime in the Summer of 2016 and at SXSW, the publisher shared a few more details.
-
Telltale described the series as, "a fresh interpretation of the universe set in current times." The game will not be based on any previous comic storylines, television shows or films. The game will be unrelated to any previous canon.
-
Each night, players will make choices to change the future of Gotham. The catch? Players will have to decide whether it's better to take action as Batman or billionaire head of Wayne Enterprises, Bruce Wayne.
-
Each decision will deeply affect Gotham and Batman's relationship with the various characters in the game and determine whether some head down a path of redemption or corruption.
-
Supporting characters confirmed thus far include Alfred Pennyworth, Vicki Vale, James Gordon and Renee Montoya. Telltale declined to reveal who would be the villain of the games.
-
The game will be rated M (17+).
