Ok so i know im not known on this site but i do vist it often BUT i live in Los Angeles and i went to the KROQ almost acoustic christmas tonight and they had a build of the GAME up for play the version i played at the concert was the PS3 version honestly i can tell you that its AWESOME the details are great it had shang shun on the back ground on his chair on one of the stages and it had sub zero scorpion that yellow robot that red robot reptile jonny cage kung loa i forget who else gameplay was not bad felt like an old school Mortal kombat game at the bottom you have a meter and once it was full if you press R1 and R2 together you could do a Special move that could do some serious damage i guess its mortal kombats version of a super Combo like street fighter OH and if you think that the controls are the same as the SNES or Arcade version of our day your wrong i coulndt figure out how to do scorpions move you know the one where he says GET OVER HERE and throw a rope at you with a blade attached to it Sub Zero i also couldn't figure out but i kinda like that the special moves are different just to make it challenging after all it is suppose to be a new game for the series BUT it seems that all the fatalities are the same for all characters in terms of how you perform them for every character i think it was right down triangle or down triangle im not sure i kinda forgot but the fatalities were cool scorpions shreds you to pieces with his fatality and ya kratos is in the game i asked one of the developers is shung sun was in the game and he looked at me and said i cant tell you that but i can tell you kratos is in the game but will be a ps3 exclusive honestly its a fun game i asked him how long they been in development he said almost 2 years and that the version we were playing was an early BUILD so im sure things will change for the game but from what i played it was alot of fun dude seeing body part being destroyed awesome lol

I have a feeling we're going to see more and more "special guest characters" in games, particularly fighting games. Soul Calibur had a notable run with this, adding platform specific guests to SCII (including Link and Spawn) and SCIV (adding characters from The Force Unleashed, which debuted later that year). If I remember correctly, one of the DOA games had a Spartan from Halo. Bottom line is, it is a fantastic way to reach players and get them interested in characters that may have otherwise remained unknown to them. Otherwise known as ADVERTISING. the same way Mountain Dew would pay to have their ads on the sidelines of Madden NFL games, I'm sure game studios pay to have their flagship characters added to other games. I think its fun and interesting, personally.
