At launch, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will feature a playable roster of well over two dozen characters. These characters will be drawn from various Marvel franchises including the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the X-Men. Noticeably absent  from the game, however, was the Fantastic Four.

Well, during Nintendo’s E3 livestream today, it was confirmed that Marvel’s First Family will be coming to Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3… as DLC. Today’s trailer revealed that Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 will be getting an Expansion Pass containing content focus on Marvel Knights, the X-Men, and Fantastic Four.

Specifics, such as pricing details and which characters from these franchises will be included, are still a mystery. As it stands now, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 already features some prominent characters from X-Men (Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler) and Marvel Knights (Daredevil, Black Widow). Of course, the X-Men roster is pretty robust, so there are numerous possibilities. However, the remaining Marvel Knights could include Moon Knight, Shang-Chi, and Luke Cage. The Fantastic Four should bring (though it's not confirmed) at least the four original members: Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Thing, and Human Torch.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order’s post-launch content will begin releasing in fall of this year. While each of the DLC packs will be included in the Expansion Pass, it’s unclear if you’ll be able to buy them individually.

In addition to the exciting DLC news, today's trailer also highlights some additional heroes and villains in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, including Ghost Rider, Elektra, MODOK, Mysterio, and more.

Was that Bloodstone? You can seriously play as Bloodstone? This is a definite day one purchase. Avengers games in back to back years...I like this.
