Avengers: Endgame won't be the only time our beloved Marvel heroes square off against Thanos this year. While Marvel's cinematic blockbuster hits theaters next week, wrapping up phase 3 of the MCU, another battle against the Mad Titan looms in the distance.

With Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, Marvel fans will team up to battle for the Infinity Stones against Thanos and his ruthless warmasters, The Black Order. And according to Nintendo, the battle to prevent galactic destruction begins on July 19. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is exclusive to Nintendo Switch, with no reports of the game coming to PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.

Accompanying the release date announcement was all-new box art for the game, which reveals a number of Marvel heroes (and some villains) you'll presumably be able to play as in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. We can see numerous members of the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the X-Men, and more featured.

While some of the characters, like Wolverine, Spider-Man, Captain America, Captain Marvel, and Iron Man were pretty obvious, the inclusion of Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, Black Panther, Nightcrawler, and Deadpool are a pleasant surprise. Of course, this is probably just a glimpse of the robust pool of Marvel characters you'll have to choose from in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, with many more surprises likely to come.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 will make full use of the Nintendo Switch's unique functionality. The hybrid console will allow for up to up to four-player, drop-in/drop-out co-op multiplayer either online, locally via the same network, or even on the same Nintendo Switch console with an extra pair of Joy-Con controllers.

Assemble your ultimate team of Marvel Super Heroes from a huge cast including the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the X-Men, and more! Team up with friends to prevent galactic devastation at the hands of the mad cosmic tyrant Thanos and his ruthless warmasters, The Black Order. In this new storyline, heroes and villains unite in a race across the Marvel Universe to find the Infinity Stones before Thanos and The Black Order use them to unleash cosmic chaos. From Avengers Tower to the X-Mansion and beyond, every stop on the dangerous quest to thwart Thanos results in unexpected collisions of fan-favorite characters and iconic locations.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will release on July 19, 2019, exclusively for Nintendo Switch. Meanwhile, Avengers: Endgame hits theaters next week on April 26.

Not digging the inconsistent visuals of this compared to the last two. Also, why do some characters look like MCU and the rest don't?

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - Because that’s the way it is until they get adapted. It’s been that way with the comics and other media since 2012.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - did a double take and yeah Scarlet Witch is definitely not MCU Wanda. Looks like they’re just cherry picking 🤷🏻‍♂️

That's one cluttered box-art! Nice to see Marvel's money cow getting 4 characters into that mess. I'm curious about Gwen's inclusion as she doesn't really have any different moves from Peter, unlike Miles Venom Blast+Invisibility and Venom's symbiote powers. Multiple X-Men!!!

The Incredible Nightcrawler is in this?!

@8thDoctor - Hulk, Thing, Colossus, Luke Cage all have vaguely similar powesets but they worked out fine in previous games.

Make her faster with less hit power and different variety of web moves and you're fine.

I played Breathe of the Wild on Wii U, and I got a Nintendo Switch solely to play this game. Don't let me down gang!

The RPG elements are what'll get me into it. Hopefully the character development mechanics are strong.

Despite an X-Man front and center, the game still looks like the typical MCU-influenced garbage Disney is spewing out nowadays to cash in on these characters.
The visuals are not as terrible as they were in MCU vs Crapcom: Infinite Disappointment, but they still look awful compared to the style the previous two Ultimate Alliance games had.
And always seeing the character designs from the movies has become tiresome. I personally wish to see more comic book influences.
Oh, and we have Trashtain Marbles also being front and center, while Scarlet Witch and Storm seem more like afterthoughts.
And do we really need Miles and Spider-Gwen?? I'm sick and tired of these two, their comic books were boring as hell when I tried reading them. And they make Peter Parker seem like just another hero among many, which is a sad state for Marvel's true mascot.
