Lynda Carter On What She'd Like To See From The WONDER WOMAN Movie

Lynda Carter has previously given her opinion on Gal Gadot as our first big screen Wonder Woman, but now that it's been confirmed that a solo outing for Princess Diana is on the cards, what does she hope to see from that? Find out after the jump.

Lynda Carter played Wonder Woman in the popular TV series about 35 years ago, but she's still the one best qualified to offer advice on how to properly portray the character (after all, it's her or Adrianne Palicki who was Wondy for all of 5 minutes). Carter has said she fully supports Gal Gadot bringing Princess Diana of Themyscira to the big screen for the first time, but at the recent God's Love We Deliver 2014 Golden Heart Awards event, Vulture asked the stunning actress what she hopes to see from the first ever solo Wonder Woman movie which will follow Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice in 2017. She first reveals why she thinks it took Warner Bros. and DC so long to get this project together. saying, ""I think females baffle men, and so, that’s made it difficult to get a Wonder Woman movie made." She might be right...but it seems DC are confident they've got a handle on this female character at least. Carter then states that she's looking forward to Diana having a good sense of humour in the flick -- she'll be disappointed if that "no jokes" DC policy is true (it isn't).


"Ultimately, she’s about truth, and it’s all heart with her. She’s a strong female force. … She’s strong, but she’s so much more — not everybody gets that ... Most important, I want her to have a heart and a strong sense of humor."

let's hope Miss Carter gets her wish, because if this incarnation of Wonder Woman fails to strike the right chord with audiences in Zack Snyder's follow up to Man Of Steel, there's always a chance this planned solo outing may never see the light of day. More at the link below.

We all know Zack Snyder is directing EVERY SINGLE DC MOVIE EVER FROM NOW ON TO ETERNITY...so no point in speculating on other directors for the future solo movies =P

I want Wonder Woman to be refreshing. "Dark and Gritty" is a nice change for boy scouts like Superman and Captain America. Batman is already a dark character, so I hope Wonder Woman will be refreshing, refrain from using sex as a weapon, enjoying herself yet being serious when she needs to be, and just being a badass with a heart.

Amen to that MarkyMarkRises. The inclusion of Wonder Woman is such a massive event...they better not screw her character up!

@dethpillow Seriously! I get the feeling that Snyder will direct all the movies that play massive roles throughout the DC universe (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, both Justice League movies) and WB/DC will get other directors to handle the smaller-scale stuff, like all the other solo movies.

Or at least, I hope so. I have nothing against Snyder...but the more people that get a chance to incorporate their own unique visions into the DC universe, the better.

But in all seriousness I think Zack Snyder is only handling the team up movies from now on. Which is great because his style fits those kinds of movies perfectly in my opinion

Doug Liman should direct Wonder Woman, and with that in mind pairing him up with Christopher McQuarrie as a writer again is the only logical step to take afterwards.

Can we at least make WW a beacon of light and hope?? Superman has been turned into a dark brooding alien. Can WW be kept a light and hopeful demigod from a beautiful deified island. She can kick ass but is still light eaters and pure

Snyder made watchmen which is a dark story but can we get some lighthearted ness in there new team up films?? Superman is a beacon of light and hope. Hopefully he's not hated the whole BvS movie. JL animated series is a prime example of how the team tone and dynamic should be handled

That awkward moment when the only differentiating trait between Gal Gadot and Lynda Carter is cup size...



The best part is...Gadot is even a little bulkier than Carter. Arms are for sure bigger, wider in the shoulders, and legs are about the same. Carter has little bigger hips, but they're completely square, it's weird...

Ive been saying this since Gal Gadot was chosen. Shes literally like the same size as Lynda Carter if not slightly bigger. It would be nice if Gal got her muscles toned up a lil more tho

As long as they dont let Goyer and Snyder write the script, the Wonder Woman film could turn out dope. Goyer would turn the WW film into exactly the opposite of what it needs to be.
