New WONDER WOMAN Toys Strongly Support Claims That Ares Is The Main Villain With A Glimpse Of His Battle Armor

Last month, we were more or less given unofficial confirmation that Ares would be the main villain in Wonder Woman, and now, images of upcoming toys offer strong evidence to support the claim.

It'll probably be a few weeks before Warner Bros. decides to roll out the final trailer for Wonder Woman, which should shed some light on the film's plot & villains. For now, thanks to photos of a pair of upcoming action figures, it looks like we may have received a slightly more concrete confirmation, following last month's interview snippet, that Ares is indeed the main villain in the upcoming Patty Jenkins-directed feature.

The two images feature first looks at the packaging of a Diana of Themyscira figure and a Steve Trevor figure, but the most interesting part of both is seen tucked away in the corner. It's what appears to be a piece of Ares' battle armor and it can be connected together with the other five (if you collect them all) to form the nefarious God of War.

The photos don't provide the clearest of looks, but we can tell that the armor is black and silver, meaning Ares will sport a fairly comic-accurate appearance on film. As for who's playing him or whether or not he will be, as rumored, an entirely CGI creation, that's up in the air - but there are several candidates in the film from Danny Huston (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), David Thewlis (Harry Potter), Ewan Bremner (Snowpiercer), and Saïd Taghmaoui (The Infiltrator), whose roles all have yet-to-be revealed. However, Taghmaoui did make a brief cameo in Wonder Woman's photo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, so he's likely out of the running.

Check out the toy photos below:

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers...and her true destiny.

Hopefully this is a sign those two people on here were blowing smoke about having seen a test screening. They claimed that Ares appears as another "cloud" villain at the end.

They gave specific scenes from the film, so I guess we will see come summer if they were full of sh*t or not.

@MrDandy - Yeah, but if they were lying then they'll be the "clouds" so it's not like there's any accountability for it...

Where on the toys does it say there are 5 pieces of armor to collect?
I've believed Ares is a villain in this for a while, but this doesn't contribute to me thinking one way or another at all.
