Bryan Singer says Wolverine Could be in Future X-Men First Class Movies

The X-producer told IGN that there is room for Hugh Jackman to reprise his role as Wolverine in potential First Class sequel...

Speaking exclusively to IGN, Singer explains "I think there would definitely be room. I think it would be a very exciting thing. This universe has to establish itself before, but that would be a very interesting and fun thing." He goes on to say that "It's a completely different film. Xavier and Magneto are important characters as well. It's just a different X-Men film. I obviously love the character, but you can't not do it just because he's not in it."

What does this mean for the X-Men movie franchise? Wolverine being in a future first class movie would certainly contradict the cannon of the previous movies, or could they figure out a clever way to weave him in and keep continuity?

Perhaps with all the development problems of The Wolverine movie a future First Class installment may be our next chance to see Jackman don the claws again.

Tell us what you think this could mean for the X-Men movies in the comments section.

X-Men: First Class will be released worldwide in early June.
