It has been years since the last Looney Tunes theatrical film has been released with "Looney Tunes: Back in Action" in 2003 which starred Brendan Fraser and Steve Martin and previously before that "Space Jam" with Michael Jordan. Now they are set to make a return but not in a way you might be thinking.
Warner Bros is currently working on a brand new feature film called "Acme". The plot details are unknown and whether if this will be in live-action or animated or both, but we do have a star attached who is Steve Carrell. The writers of "X-Men: First Class" Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz will pen the script. It is described as a spin-off set within the Looney Tunes universe and has been since in development from 2010. No word on any other Looney Tunes projects in the works, Space Jam 2 has been reportedly in the works for a while but nothing of the project as of now.
Acme is the fictional company set within the Looney Tunes universe known for making whacky and insane gadgets/weapons that always seems to backfire horribly. With Steve Carrell set to star I think it's safe to say we can prepare for a constant laugh riot.
