Not surprisingly, the characters you most want to see back in the hands of Marvel Studios are the mutants that Fox have been making bad movies about for years! With X-Men: First Class proving somewhat unpopular with fans, it's easy to see why they won this poll with such a huge majority. In second place with another fairly large amount of votes was Spider-Man, which is a little more surprising despite the awful third installment back in 2007, as the buzz surrounding the upcoming reboot has been mostly popular. Following on behind with only a handful of votes separating them were two more Fox franchises whose previous movies suffered equally poor reviews from fans and critics alike at the time of their release. Even further behind with less than 100 votes each are Blade and Ghost Rider. Thanks again for voting, and be sure to share your thoughts about these results in the usual place!

definetly, the x-franchise should be back at marvel.

-we would get "the x-men" films that we long for.

-"the avengers 2" could feature "vision","wonderman" & "scarlett witch".

-r-rated "wolverine" & "deadpool" movies.

it will happen one day the sooner the better.

I voted for Spider-Man, and here's why: As much as I think Fox has done a craptacular job with the X-Men franchise, I've always felt that they'd work better separate from the Marvel universe. The whole "feared and hated" thing doesn't make a lot of sense in a world where other extra-normal people like the Fantastic Four and Captain America are idolized.

Plus, I don't think the X-men franchise really suffers from not crossing over with the Avengers. It's much cooler, I think, when Spidey teams up with Iron Man than the umpteenth time Wolverine pops up in someone else's book. How exciting would it be if Sam Jackson as Nick Fury turned up at the end of the new Spider-Man movie?

Anyway, I know we all want to see all these films back at the House of Ideas, but X-Men won this poll simply because they've been stinking the worst lately.

Absolutaly shocked.. X-Mens little universe really doesnt sit well within this cinematic universe Marvel has created.. I much prefer to see the opportunities that reside from bringing marvels first family the Fantastic Four into their universe... Doom, Galactus, Skrulls, InHumans.

HawHaw, well, Mr. Fantastic doesn't lose control of his powers that result in mass destruction. When a Mutant loses it, Phoenix devours a star system, Scarlet Witch completely turns reality on its head, and Xavier creates a psionic Onslaught that kills half the heroes in Marvel. Lets also consider the fact that characters like Cap and Spidey are genetically human while Mutants are an entirely new race of human. How would you like the idea of becoming genetically obsolete? I can't think of any non-Mutant Marvel characters that could crack the planet in half with a thought, aside from a few villains of incredible power, like Galactus! Hell, even he has to do some setting up to accomplish that, whereas Magneto could flip the planets poles and wipe out half the life on the planet within a few moments. Bottom line is that Mutants are far more dangerous than non-Mutant Super Sapiens. Also, if you read enough Marvel, you will see many civilians in MarvelU don't care for Super Humans any more than they do Mutants.

Please all tell me how X-Men wouldn't fit in Marvel Cinematic U? Mutants have been a part of Marvel for over 50 years and now they aren't good enough to share the same cinematic world?!? I wouldn't read comics if it weren't for Mutants, so I'm a little offended by this idea.

@Layperson: Sorry, I try to stick to poorly-spelled homphobic slander but every once in a while some sense slips through. ;^D

I agree with Paulley. It would be a shame if all the many characters introduced in FF never make into the Marvel movie universe.

Next survey I'd like to see is which property do you think probably WILL revert back to Marvel first. I'd go with DD or the FF.

not gonna happen for very long time

if first class is financially successful that is a good 3 or 4 more x films not even including wolverine

they have a enough characters and story line's to use that weren't used in the original trilogy that will keep them busy

Sentinels
Sinister
Apocalypse
Bishop
Omega Red
Shadow King
etc.

I definitely voted for Spidey. But now I'm second-guessing it. I wished I didn't rush through the poll and pick the first one I liked. Fox definitely screwed up X-Men. The Origin movie wasn't very good, the first 3 X-Men movies weren't up to their potential...I hope Darren Aronofsky can somehow show the light to what the fans should've gotten the first time around.

the X-men universe fitting into this new movie universe is a completely different concept to them fitting in to the comics.

fitting in the concept as a whole could be a push unless its a new phenomenon which would rule out older mutant which obviously wont happen..

Or they can add only a few specific characters a make the whole thing a very rare phenomenon.. but that wont happen cus people will be annoyed at the lack of characters.

--

They could go the ultimate route and make the mutants be a human created thing.. which people wont like.

Or you can just decide to add everybody and just make it a random thing that the world knows about but doesnt get mentioned in the first what atleast ten movies... then we can have movies where they cram in doesnt of characters dont give them enough screen time to handle them properly leading to people moaning.

lets face the only reason Marvel would have X-Men is so they can have a pg-13 watered down Wolverine running around

I chose Spider-Man but honestly it would be Spider-Man, X-Men, and Fantastic Four in a tie. They would open up the Universe allow for bigger movies. I feel Blade, Ghost Rider and Especially Daredevil could be successful films in there own universe.

I Would love to see a dramatic DD based on "The Man Without Fear" graphic novel.

These results reflect the young age of the majority of visitors to this site and typify the collective reasoning often exhibited on cbm.com and throughout many comic shops at the same time.

I'm not at all suprised that Spidey and the X-Men are tops, as they were being shoved down everyone's throats since the early '90s! Long-time fans will recall that the FF and Avengers were indisputedly at the center of the major happenings in the Marvel universe! Nearly EVERY long-lasting, significant event that happened at Marvel involved one or both of these teams from 1961 to about 1990!

I invite anyone who isn't familiar with FF vol.1, #s 1 - 352 and Avengers vol.1, #s 1 - 368 and the annuals from that era to make it a priority to check these stories out!

Until Phoenix came along in '77, the X-Men's level of power couldn't come close to the Avengers, so the mutants were marginalized in Marvel lore. At the dawn of the '90s, the X-Men's popularity led Marvel to heighten their profile to surpass that of the main heroes which has caused many young readers to become biased in their views!

Not a real shock!

How about "All of the Above."

As far as I'm concerned, every single franchise should revert back to Marvel Studios. There isn't one more than the other, in my book. And I'm 100% sure I'm not the only who wants to see the power of Disney make a move to get back the film rights to everything Marvel related that is owned by another studio.
