The Game of Thrones actress shares her reaction and whereabouts when X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer had broke the news on Twitter that she'd be playing Jean. Check it out after the jump
Sophie Turner was in attendance of the Screen Actors Guild Awards tonight in Los Angeles, where she spoke, for the first time, about being cast as Jean Grey in next year's X-Men: Apocalypse. More specifically, when Access Hollywood asked where she was when director Bryan Singer had made the announcement on Twitter, the English actress reveals she was on her way to an audition. "I was getting out of the car to walk in to the audition," she said. "And then my agent started ringing and she was like 'Have you heard the news?' 'No, what news?' Then she was like 'Check your Twitter'. So then I checked it and… I was just getting like, 'Congratulations Jean Grey.' Then I just started crying and I messed up the whole audition because I was just like, 'I can't speak!'" Turner later said she has no idea when filming starts, but she has seen Famke Janssen's portrayal of Jean Grey in the previous X-Men movies. "She was amazing," she said. "So, I'm really trying to emulate her, because she did such a great job and I just hope I do justice to this incredible character." Before the interview had wrapped up, Sophie Turner said "It should be fun" to to play Jean Grey opposite actor Tye Sheridan, who was announced as Scott Summers aka Cyclops. Anyhow, watch video of the interview below, and also check out the latest X-Men: Apocalypse fan art by BossLogic which offers a look at Sophie Turner as Jean while also in her Phoenix persona.
