Many fans of Fox's original X-Men film, the film responsable for kick starting the comic book genre on the big screen, believe that the cast of the original film deserve to get another run out on the big screen and now it looks like they might be in luck! Producers Lauren Shuler-Donner and Hutch Parker told HitFix that the original cast may not be finished yet.
On top of that Lauren Shuler-Donner added that there are concrete plans to bring more solo films into the universe, stating that "definitely some solo efforts. I hope to see us do Gambit. Deadpool will eventually punch his way to the screen, I think."

I'd rather Fox did an All New X-Men type of thing and brought a young team forward to the future

I have become so attatched to the original cast.
LOVED the majority of the casting in the original X Men.

McKellan, Stewart, Janssen, Marsden and Romij were flawlessly casted.
Even Anna Paquin as Rogue is good, she proves on True Blood she can play a sassy, feisty Southern belle, it's just down to bad writing for X Men.

I would love to see a solo Gambit movie with Anna Paquin back.

I'd love to see more of the original cast, but I find unlikely.

I just hope once Jackman is done, they ignore Wolverine for a while. In-fact, I hope they wait a good amount of time before recasting or rebooting him or whatever. Focus on the rest of the X Men.

Let's face it, Rebecca is ready to come back.
In 2014 she looks incredible. Definitely in Mystique shape. But I feel sorry for her, with J-Law being so popular I doubt they'll have her back as Mystique. Would love to see her as a Horseman.

Deadpool Rated R or bust. Nightcrawler back for Apocalypse or bust.

Jennifer is a much better actress, she's really talented but Rebecca had the sheer sex appeal, mysterious quality and darkness in the way she just looked at people in a scene that J-Law doesn't have.

They do have some resemblance but Jennifer would've been a good Jean Grey.

Maybe with the new timeline Cyclops won't get treated like crap just to give dumb f*** wolverine more screen time.

Should put on the back burner(do a Wolverine 3 is a goodbye to Hugh)

And make Cable the star of the franchise since he can travel back and forth though time. Help out the x-men, leader of X-force, had his own solo, and even popped up with Deadpool for a team up. That's what Fox needs to do

I'd love to see a reboot with an entirely new cast but still a fairly classic line up - Xavier, cyclops, wolverine, storm, beast, gambit, rogue, jean and maybe even night crawler and colossus. Have them be an established team and take on a major villain we've not seen - Mr Sinister maybe? You could bring in the savage land here and show a side of the x man universe we've not seen...I remember the 90s cartoon did this arc and it was something totally different to either magneto or the sentinels. They also captured the essence of the characters pretty well too! Something I think we'd all agree fox has done sporadically at best!

@Omega

Agreed.

Fox is in kind of a predicament.

They can't really reboot after Apocalypse because The Wolverine 2 with Jackman still has to come after (unless it really is some Old Logan type of story arc where it's just himself). Plus, they just cast some of the best talent in Hollywood right now with McCavoy, Fassbender, and Lawrence to just shelve it away.

In comparison, they really can't (story wise) continue with this timeline because Apocalypse has to be their big load, their Thanos, their big build-up. And also, because they're probably going to erase the whole 00's "X-Men" movie timeline (the present-to-future timeline in other words) within DOFP, assuming from what the presence of that final stand type of scene we see from the trailers implies. Which, would then only leave Charles, Eric, Wolverine, Quicksilver, Mystique, and the other First Class characters in a new timeline (in the 70s), which no one would probably be interested in seeing.

It's a clusterf*ck of confusion, just like Primer's timelines.

And it gets even more tedious to think about when you weigh in if whether or not FF will have a crossover with this franchise.
