X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.

I guess that's the drawback of human mutants that don't project any visual energy. They have to stand around straining, frowning and making hand gestures. But I think they released at least one mag cover where McAvoy didn't have his fingers on his temple. I think.

Could be a summer sleeper, that being there's no
pressure of high expectations like the big 3
( THOR, GREEN LANTERN, CAPTAIN AMERICA,).

this movie is going to rule and I am gonna love it when you all have nothing to [female dog] about after except continuity with the comics.
NeoBaggins
NeoBaggins - 4/15/2011, 10:38 PM
Yes, because "continuity with the comics" is totally unnecessary.

Matthew Vaughn is a great director and seriously underrated by the masses. If you guys get the chance you should watch Neil Gaiman's StarDust which was another underrated movie that should of been watched by the masses

Okay that's the dumbest [frick]ing thing i've ever heard. your saying that if the studio makes a movie based on a comic it doesn't have to adhere to any of the source material? Listen up Fist Assholians it is agreed that it is impossible to expect any film based on previously established material to follow said source verbatim, that being said the reason why films like cap thor and even GL have more fan support is because even though they obviously don't follow comic continuity to the letter they pay more respect to where these characters came from rather then throw a bunch of mutant names in a hat write a script around it and film the piece of shit in under three months.

do any of you understand how [frick]ing ludicrous it is to tell FANS not to complain when they're unhappy with the bastardized result of a bull shit ploy to pull money from their pockets in order to justify the continued existence of a shitty adaptation? Without the Comic there would be no movie and without the fans there would be no comic RESPECT THAT.

theAstonoshingCyclops I'm fully aware of the general audiences lack of knowledge as to what flavor PopTart Magneto enjoys the most. However, this particular installment is so far off the mark, that those said fans will have many questions- annoying questions that they will ask US. During the movie. Iron Man, Spider-man and the X-MEN trilogy are all MARVEL films ANYONE can watch without having to know 50 years of comicbook history to follow. The general public are very familiar with X-MEN. They have rushed to see WOLVERINE: ORIGINS. The makers of First Class and it's actors have admitted that this film is way off the mark. Long story short; everyone will notice. Geeks and Regulars alike.

It's the Original STAR WARS meets the STAR WARS prequels all over again. Like the creator himself NEVER saw the originals when considering the back story.

"...it is unnecesary to the mainstream audience, they care about that crap, just the whny fanboys who care about that."

Well it's the mainstream audience that also saw the previous films and bought the DVDs. When they realise First Class doesn't sit with previous films who you gonna blame then?

Lmao at the people saying that they are only watching this for Magneto and Xavier.....THIS MOVIE IS ABOUT MAGNETO AND XAVIER!! That's like saying 'I'm only gonna see Gary Sinise's Of Mice and Men for George and Lennie.'

The trailer did make it look like a good movie. My "hate" comes from the lack of continuity with the comics or other Fox X-Men movies.
