Universal Pictures has released the first trailer and poster for The Bourne Legacy, a fourth film in the popular action franchise and starring The Avengers' Jeremy Renner as 'Aaron Cross'.

The narrative architect behind the Bourne film series, Tony Gilroy, takes the helm in the next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office: The Bourne Legacy. The writer/director expands the Bourne universe created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films.

For The Bourne Legacy, Renner joins fellow series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, while franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn reprise their roles.

Ahhh... makes sense with Bourne Legacy name too. He's sort of another Bourne himself. Anyway looks awesome. Hopefully, they can bring Damon back for the forth one, perhaps using Renner's character as well in it. :) Can't wait.

MovieMaster Dude I thought everyone had seen the Bourne movies... lol. Watch the ones with Matt Damon in it right now! It's a must. Some of the greatest action movies EVER.

Yea I'm really digging this, I've been fan of Jeremy Renner ever 28 Weeks Later and The Hurt Locker. From the looks of this he might be a good replacement for Matt Damon.

I wasn't on board with continuing on from such an epic trilogy. But it looks like they've kept the feel (as well as the cast) of the other three in this.

I hope he's not a Jason Bourne ripoff-(loses memory& goes after bosses!) give him his own agenda, his own cause, & the only thing he has in common with Mr. Bourne is treadstone & it will be a nice way to move into the next chapter of the franchise. I like the cast & the look of it though, I'm gonna be living at the movies this year!

All the superheroes in the world in all the tightest spandex couldn't drag me from seeing this movie! I'll take any Bourne movie over Avengers, Spiderman and all the other comic flicks cept Batman! Batman's cool Like Bourne, no silly powers just pure ass-kicking skills!

I love it when they retroactively change stories to make the new one seem important. "Jason Bourne was just the tip of the iceberg." "We've never seen test scores like this." It's basically the standard storytelling faux pas of thinking the next story has to be bigger for it to be better. Renner's character can't just be another Bourne, he has to be even BADASSIER than Bourne. The conspiracy that created Bourne can't just be big and bad on its own, because we're making another movie, and this movie's conspiracy has to be BADASSIER. We're retroactively going to throw in even more backstory that was never intended to be there just so we can connect the stories and have and make our characters out to be relevant. I'm not judging the movie, since I obviously haven't seen it, but that entire teaser was garbage.

Glad this continues from where Ultimatum left off. Same characters but they think bourne is dead so they hunt this new guy.
