THE BOYS Spinoff Series Moving Forward At Amazon With AGENT CARTER Showrunners Attached
Amazon Prime Video has officially given the greenlight to their The Boys spinoff series, which will be set at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (run by Vought International).
Amazon Studios has officially issued a series order for their much-buzzed-about The Boys spinoff, which will follow a group of young superheroes attending America's only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes, which just so happens to be owned and operated by Vought International.
Agent Carter alums Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters have been tapped as showrunners and executive producers, while Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Garth Ennis, amongst others, are also attached in executive producer roles.
The main cast will feature Jaz Sinclair (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina; The Vampire Diaries), Lizze Broadway (Bones; Here and Now), Shane Paul McGhie (Deputy; Greenleaf), Aimee Carrero (Holidate; The Last Witch Hunter), Reina Hardesty (The Flash; Brockmire), and Maddie Phillips (Teenage Bounty Hunters; Supernatural).
The official description calls the untitled show, "an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part Hunger Games— with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys."
With The Boys season three in the can, it seems probable that the spinoff will head into production next, likely aiming for a mid-2022 release on Prime Video.
