SUPERGIRL: THE COMPLETE SERIES Blu-ray Review: "Bid Farewell To The Girl Of Steel With A Fitting Swan Song"
After wrapping its high-flying run last fall, Supergirl: The Sixth and Final Season is now available on Blu-ray along with a Supergirl: The Complete Series Blu-ray box set featuring all 126 episodes!
After bringing its final season to a close last fall, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and DC Entertainment have finally released Supergirl: The Sixth and Final Season on Blu-ray and DVD, featuring all twenty episodes from Kara Danvers' (Melissa Benoist) swan song in stunning 1080p.
In addition to the Sixth and Final Season combo pack, they've also released a Supergirl: The Complete Series Blu-ray box set, including all 126 episodes of the high-flying series and plenty of bonus features to keep fans entertained for countless hours to come.
The 4-disc Sixth and Final Season set contains four Blu-ray discs and includes a number of never-before-seen deleted scenes that help enhance your viewing experience as you relive Kara's last batch of small-screen adventures. While it's light on additional content, it does include the "A Farewell Tribute to Supergirl" panel, which offers some fun insight into the legacy of the series from Benoist and the main cast.
The Complete Series box set includes all previously released bonus content as well as the new season six material.
As an added bonus, just like Smallville: The Complete Series 20th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray box set, both Supergirl: The Sixth and Final Season and Supergirl: The Complete Series sets include a one-time use only Digital HD code (redeemable on Vudu), offering fans the option to enjoy Kara's Kryptonian adventures with them on the go.
For six seasons, the perfectly-cast Melissa Benoist thrilled and inspired audiences of all ages across the globe. From the most humble of beginnings where she took on the likes of her aunt Astra, Livewire, and Maxwell Lord, to squaring off against the increasingly more powerful Queen Rhea, Reign, and Red Daughter, to taking down some of the most devastatingly dangerous villains in Agent Liberty, Nyxly, and the ultimate bad guy Lex Luthor.
Regardless of the evildoer, Kara Danvers always delivered, and always had time for ice cream.
She also had a chance to team up with her equally super-powered cousin Kal-El (Tyler Hoechlin), the Scarlet Speedster Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and the rest of the Arrowverse on multiple occasions to save the world in exciting crossover events that helped spawn new relationships and the most excellent of spinoffs in Superman & Lois (a show we still hope Benoist will one day guest star on).
Celebrate Benoist's time in the cape and bid farewell to her beloved portrayal of the Girl of Steel with either of these two amazing home video collections - Supergirl: The Sixth and Final Season and Supergirl: The Complete Series - both of which bring her super journey to a fitting end.
