The Justice League series premiere "Secret Origins Pt. 1" first aired November 17, 2001. It was extremely well recieved by fans after the huge success of Batman The Animated Series, Superman The Animated Series, and Batman Beyond. It focused on the 7 core members of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern John Stewart, Martian Manhunter, and Hawkgirl. It was also the first show by the creative team to have two-parter episodes for each episode. The hour-long episode formate made for better stories and more screen time for each of the characters. This was a breakthrough show for fans and creators alike as it showed us a true interpretation of our favorite DC Comics superhero team, without the campiness that we were all given with "Super Friends".

Young Justice first premiered with its hour-long series premiere, "Independence Day", on November 26, 2010. The regular running scheduled programming of the series didn't air until January 7, 2011. Since that time, there have been 18 episodes, with a promised 26 episode run in the first season, along with a promised second season the following year. The team is comprised of 6 core members including Superboy, Robin (Dick Grayson), Kid Flash (Walley West), Aqualad (Kaldur'ahm), Miss Martian, and Artemis. The series is also comprised of constant cameo appearances of other famous DC Comics heroes including Batman, Superman, Martian Manhunter, Black Canary, Green Arrow, Captain Marvel, Red Tornado, Red Arrow, and countless others. The series has seemed to focus on a team that operates more in the covert area of heroics, while the JLA is still the prime "media mogul" superhero team. The show also focuses on how these young heroes grow and deal with being in the shadows of the world's greatest heroes, while simultaniously dealing with teen issues and the strains of working together.

The question that I am posing to all of you fans out there is which animated series do you think is better as far as story, character design, animation, voice cast, action, etc...: Justice League or Young Justice?

I agree. It is hard to compete with the likes of Superman, Batman, Flash, and Green Lantern as far as characters go. I do enjoy the animation style of Young Justice more than Justice League though.

The only thing that I don't know if I 100% agree with Weedbeater on is plot development. In the first two seasons of Justice League, there were great hour-long episodes, but there really weren't any season long storylines/conflicts. I feel like Young Justice has been leading up to and constantly continuing with this GREAT arc and mystery. Who's the leak/trader? What is Artemis's past? What is The Light's ultimate goal/plan? These are all such great questions that I feel drive the series better than the episodes of Justice League

Justice League, IMO, is a well written show, with compelling stories and great voice work. Young Justice not so much.

both are great shows and should not be compared becoz they are from different generations(jl-2001,yj-2011). Jl had great stories and was the best superhero team up on screen,my fav characters were gl,batman, flash and mm. It gave us great stories about sci fi via gl, mystery and detective via batman, magic and fantasy via ww and many more different types of stories via other characters such as etrigan, doctor fate, aquaman and more and jlu had season long plots.every episode of 1st and 2nd season is bone chilling and unforgetable. The stories were very intriguing and had a stroke of a genius and classic. Its one of best comic book interpretation on screen and each episodes can go toe to toe with even live action CBM's like batman,x men, blade, spiderman etc. Yj is a very entertaining show and i love that show but it lacks the magic that Jl had.

While I agree that the overall scope of Justice League and the characters used were absolutely great and legendary, I really enjoy the covert task force aspect of Young Justice. I also really like the costume designs better than Justice League.

Overall, I think Justice League was better, but Young Justice is fantastic. It's a really close call for me

I love Young Justice it is one of my favorite cartoons on TV but I gotta give this to Justice League. It just more interesting stories and better voice cast even though I love Young Justices cast.

I feel its hard to compare the series' because, as previous posts have stated, they are from different generations. However, KI think with YJ still in the begginning I think so far it beats Justice League because it incorporates more characters from spanning out into the Justice League and also shows a sometimes deeper relation in the characters by showing the struggles to impress their peers, menotrs, and blend in while discovering who they are as a person and ultimately becoming the heroes they are destined to be.
