New AVENGERS ASSEMBLE Stills From Preview Comic

Available on Free Comic Book Day, a couple of scans have been released giving us a new still and look at the characters from the upcoming DisneyXD animated television show, Avengers Assemble, so check out the images after the jump!

Courtesy of Marvel Animation Age, we have two new stills from the upcoming animated television show, Avengers Assemble, scanned from the preview issue that's available this weekend for Free Comic Book Day. The comic features stills from the series reconfigured into comic format. According to Marvel Animation Age, the plot of the comic is about The Avengers defending the city from a monstrous threat which somewhat sounds like preview footage shown to people at New York Comic Con. I'll wait until I see the first episode to judge it,visually looks like an improvement...but I don't know if it will ever top EMH, and I'm kind of worried that this show may end up becoming what Ultimate Spider-Man is to its predecessor:Spectacular Spider-Man, just another kiddie show with "upgraded" animation.
EMH and SSM shouldn't have been cancelled.

So, when did all the Fanboys become the whinniest little group of punk b!tches around? Some of you guys complain about the most ridiculous stuff. Iron Man looks to bulky?! EMH is better and you haven't even seen this yet?! (numerous IM3 spoilers, which I'm not listing like some others)

Come on guys...be glad we are getting something instead of nothing. Do you guys remember Marvel in the late 80's early 90's??? We are living in the hay-day. Be glad.

Iron Man 3 is sh*t just for the twist, Avengers Assemble animation is bad, despite this is a comic and it is not animated...geez, the amount of ignorance around here these days is astounding.

Why do they hate Hawkeye so much ?!

HATEEEEEEEEEEEE that stupid outfit they've shoved down our throats at every single turn. Why could this outfit have stayed as Ultimate Hawkeye only? Why did it have to bleed into Marvel's Avengers... and then into the MU(616)?!?!

I dont care what happens at Marvel anymore; I hope this show is as good if not better than EMH but I'm not holding my breath... I'm gonna give up on caring and supporting this company.

Though Thanos is gonna be in this and thats awesome, we'll all have to wait and see the quality of writing, direction and execution. Fingers crossed its a continuation and not a reboot.

What are you guys talking about. These character designs look way better than EMH. If anything the EMH character designs was the one gripe I had with that show. Looking good so far. I do hope, story wise, it is as a good as EMH. I doubt it, or why cancle EMH. I will definately check it out.

The complaint is the character design?

Did no one else think Iron Man's helemt in EMH was designed for Uma Thurman? His eyes were so far apart he looked like a damn hammer head shark. While EMH was and still is a good show, the art was sub-par most of the time. The writing in what absolutely made the show. So far based solely on this picture the character designs are superior.

I enjoyed EMH, it was a good show with a lot of the classic storylines and Ultimate Avengers stories thrown in. I thought it would progress along the lines of JLU. Too bad it never got the chance. Will give the new show a chance before passing judgment.

I love when fan boys complain about clothing? Really? He is still hawkeye just no purple. I just don't get it. Yo wanna complain the character is written like it was in the comic ok. But not the cloths. I hate when people complain about capt. America's wings on his helmet in the movies. Who cares? The man makes the suit not the other way around.

Wow, I think people here are blind, the character rendering on this looks way better than the stylistic attempt Avengers:EMH tried and failed at. It was a good series but the animation art failed more and more miserably as it went on. The character anatomy and proportions looks so much better defined..




especially in comparison to this wannabe Bruce Timm knock-off...

Both Marvel and DC are disappointing me in animation right now. I can't stand Ultimate
Spider-Man, and I think Beware the Batman looks terrible, but maybe that's just me.

You hate the design of these stills? What kind of drugs are you guys on?

Avengers EMH was THE best marvel show ever made but its designs sucked. These Avengers Assemble design are WAY more superior to that of EMH. If this show has a similar story quality then it would be the best Marvel show.

Unfortunately, even though i love this design, i have no faith in Jeph Loeb and Man of Action. And as long as these guys are at MArvel i won't hold my breath.

EMH had a great toony style because it was a CARTOON!
Those who dislike EMH are morons. Great style & stories.
I don't want realistic animation..if I want realism I will watch a live action superhero movie.

This new Avengers show has yet to be seen,it could be cool. Wait & see.

i hated Iron Man's old faceplate design! looked so wrong.

I love the look of the art work & designs for Avengers Assemble.

HOWEVER............

I wish they had have kept the original voice cast for each character from EMH!

They should have kept Black Panther, Ant-Man & Wasp. Stop trying to get everything as close looking to the movies for christs sake.

Hawkeye should have had a look resembling his EMH counterpart.

Loeb is a Dick & likes to make things simplistic & easy meaning story arcs won't be built up or progressed. Not happy about singley containing stories to a episode.

I really hope they aren't going to make this show too dumbed down or try to make it 'too funny' (Un-funny IMO) like Ultimate Spider-Man, I know this show is to tie in / cross over with Ultimate Spider-Man, which is fine, but I can only suffer one cartoon being too kid friendly orientated & it's bad enough putting up with that from Ultimate Spider-Man, I don't want to have to be putting up with it from Avengers Assemble as well. I know the cartoons are catered towards kid before anybody points that out, but still, doesn't mean they have to make them all as stupid or as silly as some of the parts in Ultimate Spider-Man. Hopefully they keep that kiddy type humour for Hulk & The Agents of Smash & not here in Avengers Assemble.

Hopefully the stories are as good as what EMH were, or maybes even try to redo some of that stuff here but with a different take or in a different order, but I want to see Kang, The Skrulls, The Kree, Galactus, etc, etc.

This show has a lot to live up to & big boots to fill when compared with EMH, time will tell if Avengers Assemble can hold up!

I would be very interested to see the viewing number for this compared to EMH and Ultimate Spidey compared to Spectacular.

There's no way this tactic is working. I refuse to believe it. Ultimate Spidey is god awful and this looks to be the same.

Just because the art style is realistic, doesn't mean the show will be better. I mean if Spectacular and Ultimate were compared without having seen any episodes and judged solely on their art styles, more people would go for Ultimate.
As we know, despite Spectacular being more stylised, the characterisation and storytelling were miles better than goofy Ultimate.
I don't like to judge a show before it is released and I'm not saying this will be bad. I'm just saying that the people who don't like where this show may be going have a point.

Its not animated if its not moving. Come on. Besides when we see the ACTUAL animation these same people will probably say the animation is fluid if the fight scenes in Ultimate spider-man are anything to go by.

These designs are better than those in EMH. I loved that show because each episode seemed to have lasting ramifications and i like continuety but it wasnt a patch on Ultimate avengers,hulk vs or planet hulk visually which is unfortunate.

With regards to standalone episodes, this approach isnt always bad. Batman the animated series which had singular episodes with the occasional two parter, is one of the best animated series imo. I'll give AA a chance, havent seen anything to dissuade me from watching it. All we've gotten so far is a handful of art and the roster. I understand wanting whats gone but its time to grow up and stop hating things when theyre announced.

I don't like the new designs for Assemble at all. I think their faces alone look horrible. It has a weird Lets-get-back-to-the-90s look to it.

I liked the Kirby-esque style for backgrounds EMH went for. Color pallet was amazing to look at. I thought the designs were great.

I hate how marvel has it so that iron man is the leader of the avengers, he may be their biggest cash cow right now, but leading is Steve's forte not Tony's, hence the name CAPTAIN America
