I don't know why, but the idea of Robin being both the "most experienced" and "immature" at the same time seems bizarre to me.

He's also younger than everyone else by about 2-3 years. Perhaps someone made a mistake with his stats.

I can't wait for this new series but damn with Dick Grayson as Robin we won't get to see Nightwing!

@Arrion why wont we see nightwing? this show if it last 4 or more season (which it probably will) i think there high chance of seeing nightwing

EdGross - 12/26/2010, 8:39 AM
Speaking of Nightwing, if the CW is going to follow Smallville with anything DC-related, rather than Raven I think it would be ideal to do a Nightwing series. I can't imagine why somebody hasn't jumped on that idea.
Knightstalker
Knightstalker - 12/26/2010, 9:01 AM
Nightwing would be a perfect replacement series. Maybe even throw in a few cameos from Batgirl. They probably can't the licensing for that so they're sticking with someone nobody cares about like Raven.

@EdGross

A few years back, Warner tried to start development on a solo Robin series called "The Graysons". Christopher Nolan allegedly got very upset with the idea, and helped lobby for the show to get axed. Something about it sullying what he was trying to do with the Batman franchise or something.

AQUALAD yeah right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That show the Graysons was weird anyway -- it was going to deal with Dick Grayson BEFORE the death of his parents and therefore before he met Batman. Very odd idea.

With Nolan and Bale making it pretty clear that the next film is their last, it would seem to open up the possibilities again. But who knows?

A Nightwing series would be perfect. Anyone remember Birds of Prey?

The stats throw me off. Superboy is nuch faster than the Kid Flash and not as strong as Miss Martion ? Am I reading that correctly?

And Artemis is the only one who shows any agility at all?

iconstatic - 12/26/2010, 11:30 AM
@Hawksblueyes

?
It says Kid Flash is the fastest, and Superboy is the strongest. Miss Martian is the third strongest after Superboy and Aqualad, and Artemis and Robin are the most agile.

That's the wrong Kid Flash if Miss Martian is in it, isn't it?

Young Justice line up look a bit too good considering they were the warm up act for the Titans.

@earzmundo

Roy is going to be in the show later as Red Arrow, but I don't think he'll be part of Young Justice.

They obviously replaced him with Artemis for diversity reasons though.

I really don't have any real problems with the characters they chose, but why didn't they choose to use Wonder Girl?

cartoon network just puts a kiddy feel on the show, come on strength, speed, agility, intelligence WTF!!!!

Another thing that im angry at CN for is for breaking the plot into 2 episodes and airing it on the 7th and the 14th, so we have to wait until the 21st to get a new episode. That is so dumb!!!
iconstatic
iconstatic - 12/26/2010, 4:11 PM
@Mattco44

They weren't allowed to use Wonder Girl. The guy who created Wonder Woman back in the 40's carved out some ridiculous contract that doesn't let any of the Wonder Woman characters appear in shows where they aren't the "stars", which is why she was replaced by Big Barda in the JLA episode of Batman Beyond and was the only Justice League member not to guest star in Static Shock.

Suzanne

They should have brought Nightwing on to the Birds of Prey TV Show. I don't know how they could do a Nightwing show now because the current Batman franchise doesn't have a Robin teaming with Batman and the Birds of Prey TV Show was played off as a continuation of the previous Batman franchise.

As far as Wonder Girl goes the lawsuit is settled so they will be using her later in the season.

The on thing I don't really understand, why did they introduce Speedy in the first episode if they're going to be having Artemis? Seems a little pointless to have him turn up, get narked off and leave then just have Artemis turn up to fill the gap...
JackJNapier
JackJNapier - 12/27/2010, 6:20 AM
It is dick grayson and he is 13, younger then the rest of the sidekicks. He has been crime fighting the longest so he is the most experienced. He is also a early teenager so he is immature. The stats seems right to me.

iconstatic: Didn't know that about Wonder Woman or her related characters. Too bad, because Wonder Girl was an interesting character in the Young Justice comics.

Overall, this series is shaping up like it could be something really special. Honestly, I wish it was a bit more like the comics, but for what it is, the creators have done a fine job of laying the foundation for a solid series. I'm looking forward to seeing where they're going with it.

@Suzanne

I don't think they said they'd be using her this season. As I understand it, the legal issues were settled too late for them to actually get her in the show from the start. They'll probably use her in season 2 or something.
Suzanne
Suzanne - 12/27/2010, 2:49 PM
From what I understand they haven't filmed all of the episodes for the 1st season so she won't be in the ones they already made but they have new ones to tape yet for this season and she will be apart of those.

Miss Martian is "cheerleader sweet"? I've been out of high school over ten years, but I seem to recall "cheerleader" and "sweet" being mutually exclusive. I could see describing Artemis as "cheerleader bitchy" maybe...
